I have just agreed in prnciple to do this event any tips on training plan? I am at a basic level of fitness now and it is 6 months away, I could probably run 5k straight off and am half way through the 30 day shred. I figure I need to train up to a 10k run plus a lot of strength training. I love having a goal in mind. Anyone who has done similar give me tips for the best training plan (aside from learning to do the monkey bars at the park). Also anyone want to share their experiences of similar events?

just read a review of it and it said it was harder than the tough mudder, dh doesnt think its a good idea, I think he is trying to nicely say he doesnt think I can do it will unfortunatly means I have to.

I haven't done it yet but I've started training for the Wolf Run.

Are you doing it alone or as part of a team? There's some info here about training for an obstacle race. It says it's 14k so you might want to go a bit further on your training runs, especially since this will all be trail so will be harder going than road running. Is there anywhere near you where you can do some trail runs as part of your training?

hopefully doing it as part of a team although only 3 of us definate so far (only decided yesterday), I have just done an hour run/walk through the woods, jumped over some logs and stuff and scrambled up the very steep mountain bike track rather than taking the sensible footpath. My face is about Angry this colour now.
