Half Marathon training plan

Im after a training plan for a half marathon.

I run 6 miles or so regularly and I could quite easily go and run in a 10K tomorrow if I needed to.

But now I have registered to do a half marathon in May. Any good training plans out there. I have 24 weeks so was thinking about finding a 12 week plan and repeating each week to build up slowly.

Any tips also would be very much appreciated.

Good luck. I haven't done a half but my first one will be next year as well. Someone on here posted this training plan which looked pretty good.

I found a 20 week one and modernised a bit as I have got 24 weeks, but I do like that plan. I might have a go at that one nearer the time or I could do each week twice. I like that there are 4 options depending on what you are looking to do in the actual race. I just want to get round this year.

Am lurking here.

A half will be my 2014 challenge. I can run 10 miles but hit a bloody great wall at 9 miles which leaves me struggling for the last mile. I always feel sick afterwards too. Am concerned that I just can't overcome the wall. Perhaps I'm not meant to run longer distances.

Good luck OP. It's a great thing to do!

I've got to 11 miles. I could prob manage the extra bit but I'm slow and dread coming in last!

I'm half marathon training with my group but not doing the actual run on the day. It's on the road so is feel more pressured. I start to feel sick at the 10 mile point too!

If you look on Runners World website there is a feature that you can choose your distance and a timescale, also how many days per week you want to do, you just put in your info and it gives you a training plan. I used this to train for Brighton Marathon last year - and finished!! here
