More of a quick jog and walk tbh. But it's a start. We were out for 20 minutes. Ran along the clifftop with the sea to look at and the sun blazing. We dance most weeks and do gardening plus he cycles when he can.

I need to get some ok shoes though but can't afford much as have uniform for 2 to buy. Any ideas?

I would go to a professional running shop to get your gait analysis done to see what type of shoe you need and then look round on the net (that's what I did anyway). Try on different brands too as they do fit differently

Have you any retail outlets nearby with sports shops? I recently got a decent pair of running shoes that are no longer the height of fashion and the end of the line ( they will match my tatty running trousers and Tshirt) for under £30.00.

We have sports direct. I'll have a search for a running shop though. I know my feet turn in rather than out but I am a bit flat footed. I got some special insoles from a podiatrist.

CuriousMama go to the one on the market square, they are great and will look at your feet to assess what you need.

Smile Funny I thought you meant Durham as that shop was in my mind too.

Dp reckons I need to see how seriously I'm going to take it first. He knows me so well Grin So I'll just get some moderately priced running shoes and put my insoles in for now.

indeed, you the 'go running' part I believe (if they have one), not the normal trainer section and there will be a separate stand there.

here's the page from their website on ladies running shoes

Had another run last night, can really feel it today. We didn't run that much either? Ran for say 90 seconds then walk for a minute or 2 then off again so all in all probably 10 minutes of running at the most? It was a bit easier than the day before though but can really feel it today.
