Race is on 1/7, closing date for entries is 25/6 - should I chase it up? This is my first race and I don't know how these things are organised!!

How did you enter? By post? I'd check with the bank whether the cheque has been cashed first. If it hasn't I'd probably drop an email just to be sure.

It can take a while for these things to turn around, but it's not unheard of for things to get lost in the post. I'm sure the organisers are used to having people worry.

Which race is it? Good luck, by the way!

As it's not reached the closing date, I wouldn't be at all surprised at not hearing anything - if they're sending the number out to you, then there's a good chance they've not got the numbers yet and aren't going to send anything out before as they don't want to waste money on multiple letters.

I wouldn't be surprised at not hearing, and if the race isn't one which fills wouldn't do anything until very near the race date, but if you're worried an email is unlikely to be too demanding, particularly if it's a professional organiser rather than a volunteer one. Which race?

Thanks for the replies -I won't worry as yet. It's the Shifnal half, Shropshire organised by Idsall School. It would have nice to know early as I'm keen to start collecting sponsors.

Sounds a like a small volunteer run thing - they'll probably be glad to respond to an email (as long as they're not getting hundreds of people doing it!) but I also think it's not surprising you've not heard. But a quick question saying you want to raise money and want to make sure they got your entry would be fine I think.
