Wondered what others thought about outdoor swimming re sun care

The water reflecting the sun makes the sun more dangerous doesn't it?

I think the two biggest issues are sun cream washing off and you not realising how long you've been exposed to the sun as the water keeps you cool. Sitting in the sun you'd feel hot and would be more likely to move into the shade or put on more sun cream. In the water you feel cool so wouldn't bother.

I'd recommend something like P20 or Soltan Once which will give you hours of protection even in the water.

Thanks for reply, I have cream that is meant to be waterproof for 3 hours but obviously can't wear sunhats in the pool!

what about getting an all in one suit and a swim hat. dont see them much here but sun/ stinger suits are common in Australia. and speaking as someone who got a badly burnt bum when snorkelling, they seem like a good idea!
