Anyone shredding but not dieting?

I am not overweight, but could do with firming up a bit. Thinking about doing this shred thing I keep hearing about, and was wondering if anyone else is using it as a fitness/toning aid rather than an accompaniment to a diet?
I'm looking for something to tone legs and lift bum.

Obviously doing it is better than not doing it whether you change your diet or not, I've done the shred and it certainly helps with the toning up.
I didn't change my diet but then eat really healthily 90% of the time with the very odd treat / takeaway thrown in and a glass of wine most nights.

Ruby, I'm with you on that one. I ran 6 miles on tue no problems. Did level one and two back to back on sat am and still can't walk properly.
Not dieting here though either but definatly need to tone, that is when I can walk again of course.

I started it, got to day 4 then couldn't move my knees without extreme agony so have taken some time off. I am not dieting as I just need to tone up and lose a little bit, not a lot.

Seriously having second thoughts about doing this. Every post with the word shred in it also seems to contain the words, pain/agony or puke. 'Tis slightly worrying Hmm

I have been doing this for the last two weeks. Like Wannabe, I haven't changed my diet but I eat pretty healthily anyway. I don't want to change clothes size, just to tone up a bit.

I haven't been in any pain or agony or felt like puking. When the exercise starts to hurt, I make myself do a couple more repetitions then take pause a few seconds, then join back in.

However, I think agony might be more likely if you haven't done any exercise before. I had already done more gentle DVD workouts and was swimming most weeks before I started. Shred suits me better than the other DVD workouts because it takes less than 30 mins so I can fit it in before school/work.

Ah thanks Otherside, that's encouraging. I like the idea of it fitting into a 30 minute time slot, but I'm a lazy old trout :o and I knew that if it was going to make me feel crap, that I wouldn't continue.
