cheeky or just me?

hey

I bought a bundle of baby clothes on ebay. Postage was £12 but they lived less than 5 miles from my house. I emailed them a few days before end to see if i could pick up the bundle. They said yes no problem as long as after 5pm, or at weekend.

In the end i won the bundle for 99p and then recieved an email saying that i couldnt pick up anymore because they didnt want any stranger at their house. Said their oh replied first time by mistake.

So i paid the 12 postage and packaging.. plus 99p.

A man just dropped it off in the car at my house..
now is it just me or is that a bit cheeky?? I could have walked to their house for it! They said that i could pick up, changed their mind fair enough! But i expected it to be posted, like royam mail posted.
They also said they were only free after five.. but THIS MUCH after five is taking the pee a bit i think.

very cheeky. email them saying you are upset that they have effectively charged you £12 for petrol and if you get no joy contact ebay.

You can leave neg feedback (they can't).

I would also complain to e-bay and paypal.

LittleMissNorty - I agree with your sentiment, but the seller knows where hollyandnoah lives and is very nearby. Personally, I would not do anything, even though they have behaved badly.

when it said £12 postage did it say royal mail parcel or seller's standard rate? if it said royal mail you can complain but if not i don't know if you will be able to.

I would check their returns policy for sure. horrible when clothes especially for children arrive like that. I know you just wash them, but still not nice. i replied on thread in 'for free' too!! lol

£12 is a bit extreme for petrol for a trip up the road imo, VERY cheeky n i would complain about it & expect at least the £12 you paid for postage to be refunded since they didn't actually 'post' them

Thieving swines! What is wrong with some people? £12 postage seems rather a lot anyway - was it an incredibly huge bundle of clothes? I bet that is why they had no bids other than yours.

Report
hollyandnoah · 16/08/2008 22:42

Yeh it probably was why! but i only bidded cause they said i could pick it up.

ahh what is happening to ebay btw!?

Last week i bought a filthy broken buggy and seller says it was perfect and wont refund :| Ebay are dealing with it but i'm not gonna hold my breath!

it will save me a fortune i spose lol!

that's a shame. i've just sold a bundle of 9-12 months today and had to let it go for less than i wanted. people just seem to want everything for nothing at the minute
