Well my body decided to be play silly buggers the past couple of months. On my first cycle TTC, no less! AF arrived today, on CD46. HARRUMPH. Har har good joke, ladybits!

But I am very delighted to see her in fact because I means my two months of confusion is over and I can now get cracking on this shiny new cycle!

Who's with me???? This is a glorious Superlux Superbus (the kind you'd see US presidential candidates rolling about in), with all de mod cons (dedicated champers fridge and shiny chrome margarita blender). <<blasts airhorn>>

Hey Zara. Wanted to say hello and I'm not sure I can physically be on the Sept/Oct space shuttle and the deluxe bus... However, I can be on both threads can't I? Hoping the luck of the thread continues over here.

Got AF last Friday (or spotting at least) & the cowbag refuses to f* off. However, hoping to get lucky tomorrow night & start our 2nd cycle TTC the way we mean to go on!! Never had to try last time, so not hitting the jackpot first time is a bit disappointing, and hoping the DTD every other day like newlyweds will do the job.

So my vital stats are;

Chunkychicken - TTC #2, Cycle 2, AF due 10/2

Hurrah! Welcome chunkychicken, yes of course you can be on two threads, I'm a multiple threader myself (hmmm whatever that means). Was just feeling very eager to turn over a new leaf when AF showed this morning!

Cheers to plenty of SWI!! My DH is actually quite upset about my period's arrival, he really thought it would happen first time...!!

in the same position as you two TTC#1 and got AF this week. This will be the start of Cycle 2. Not that I really expected it to happen in Cycle 1, but was still a little bit disappointed when AF showed up. DH is desperate to be a Daddy too, so he was the same. My BFF reckons i'm obsessing about this because I am such a control freak and this is the one thing I can't control. She may have a point .

Course you can stickle!! Mmmmm margaritas. Actually wish I did have a margarita about the size of my head in real life right now, AF cramps are making me a bit grouchy!!

Errrr and I think we might be related. Broody DH, BFFs entertained at OTT TTC efforts (I neglected to mention I've been using a Clearblue Fertility Monitor since last cycle)...! Really really wanting to get preggers in or before April because my work contract expires in December..... control freak, me?? Never!

Fear not ladies!!! The Superbus is where dreams come true, just like on Rock of Love...!!! chunkychicken we will scare the last of AF off with some cheesy 80s glamrock tracks!

Hi stickle It was my DH (although at the time he was still DP for another week) who wanted a baby, even before I did, & he got his wish DTD just twice... Not so lucky this time, but maybe cycle 1 for baby #1 & cycle 2 for baby #2??!!

Aww thanks zara and chunky for the warm welcomes. And hi to lyftiduft too. It will be brilliant to have a bit of support through this roller coaster. Also I'm an October baby and think its a good time of year to be born so I'd like my first dc to be around the same time!!!!

Honestly I've done 12 years or so of desperately trying not to get pregnant and all of a sudden it what you're hoping and wishing for!!

Hi everyone!
TTC#1, cycle 3 now as AF arrived uninvited today...feeling very low as really thought something was happening this time, had so many symptoms (clearly all fabricated).
Not using ovulation tests (yet), DH doesn't want to start 'stressing about it too much' - a bit too late for that now!!
Thought we did enough SWI last cycle so somewhat worried / disappointed to see AF...I know it's early days yet, but I'm impatient!!

Yes, agree with you ladies I think that once you've started TTC it's the point of no return when it comes to sanity/not stressing. Who are these people who "just forget about it and let it happen" (quote from nurse at my GP... When I went for pre-conception checkup)?? They're liars who've managed to get pg I say!!! I think everybody stresses about it.

Old biddies that tell us to "just relax, dear" will have the Superbus airhorn blasted in their direction. <hooooooonk> And as for AF... well.... <revs engine>

I'd better order more tequila....

I'm new to all this 'T'TC stuff - me and DH think of it more as not preventing as much as actively trying, otherwise I'm likely to obsess and get crazy and start squinting

AF due next week, but we'll be ttc after that. I already have a DD, 20mo, and I'd quite like a winter baby 'next' time, early November could be classed as winter, right?

What does SWI mean?

Shagging/sex With Intent (to concieve) Stetsons - I had to go online & do a Google search to understand half the acronyms when I started lurking on the conception threads!!! Had NO idea what AF was, although like it - still good old 'blob' in RL life tho!!

Welcome aboard BTW. I've got a DD who is 21months today so keeping fingers & toes crossed that this is the month because I'd love the 2.5yr gap etc. but telling myself that I'm not going to get my BFP this month so I don't get too disappointed. Already bit tense about it & only 2nd month of actively TTC - didn't try first time so this all seems a bit alien!!!

Thanks, I feel a bit like I've stepped over a threshold now that I'm posting in Conception - it makes it more official than I'd like. I only discovered MN when I was about 4 months pg last time, so this is completely uncharted (pardon the pun) territory for me.

It took 3 cycles after stopping my pill last time. Haven't restarted the pill this time, but we also haven't done a lot of sex either (WI or otherwise) We did this month, but too late in my cycle. We didn't plan to start until next month anyway, so this thread came along just at the right time.

OMG - Need to turn my phone off & step away from the TTC maths because that way madness lies.... I have just spent about 10mins calculating all the permutations of my cycle (cycle length of 26, 28 & 31 days, ov day of 10, 14, & 16 days etc etc) so that I can make sure we DTD enough for long over to be certain to get the egg. It looks like we either missed it by a day or 2 last month (nasty UTI & antibiotics killed the mood somewhat) or stopped DTD a day or 2 early. No chance of THAT happening this month!!

Anyway, going cold turkey on the conception threads for a day or 2 in the hope I'll get some perspective. I'll be back though...

Hi, I'm here too! On CD5, so will stop bleeding soon and then can get on with the SWI! Although I'm currently battling with some kind of infection/virus/possibly autoimmune thing so that might put a damper on our plans- we'll see what the GP says tomorrow.

Already posted this in the ttc no 2 thread so sorry to those of you who have already read this!!
we're thinking of starting to TTC #2 but in two minds about it:
have a nearly 6 month old ds who was born in august. We've always wanted 2 dc and a 2 year age gap ( well a 2 school year age gap). theoretically means we could wait till ds a bit older before ttc no2 but I am not keen on having another summer baby as do worry about him being the youngest in the year and struggling at school. Although I was a late summer baby and did very well at school as did many of my summer peers but with your kids you worry about everything lol! So we've been thinking about ttc from now to aim for a dc earlier in the school year with still the 2 school yr age gap. but if I was to get pregnant in the first cycle as I did with ds he would only be 14/15 months old- but of course just because it was easy to conceive no1 does not automatically the same will be true for no2! Silly thing is that although I know it would be hard I would be happy with that age gap if it meant dc2 would be earlier in the school year but what is worrying me is what people in rl will think or say. I've already had quite a few people say we're quite young to have dc- I'm 27 DH is 28, we both have very good jobs (mine is letting me go back part time next month) and salaries and have our own house so not really sure what the issue is but makes me think people will have even more to say about the small age gap as a result. sorry for the long message but hard discuss this with people in rl!!! I know I really shouldn't think about what people will say but lets be honest we all do care what people think of us lol.
so long shot is we're going to start dtd when we feel like it and see what happens but not going too ttc mad just yet!!With ds we dtd every other day of my cycle and we're not quite ready for that!

I'd like to get on the bus too if I can. TTC #1 and cycle 1 eep! well almost, AF is due friday then we start.

Been waiting it seems AGES to start but we didnt want an august baby (me, Dh,DSIL,cousins, godson etc all are its mad!) so left it till now to start.. and ironically we worked out if I get my bfp this month EDD will be my DBs birthday. Doh!!!

I was on the October ttc shuttle but af got me today.

Already have ds(6) and dd(4). Kind of in the middle of launching a business and dh not keen on ttc. Oh, and will be 36 in feb so fertility probably declining by the hour.

Great conditions for ttc!

Dh and I finally swi once last cycle. Before that he wouldn't have contemplated it. So now not sure if we are ttc or that it was a one off. Am choosing to assume we are ttc but daren't discuss anything about it with him for fear of scaring him off.
