We had the worst Christmas ever, disease and pestillence all around.

Then just when it appeared to be on the wane, DH and I were struck down today with the D (hate that word) but not the V.

Poor DS he had been promised a trip to the cinema today.

I didn't get the Christmas I ordered, and I demand a refund.

I feel the same. Dh decided to take down decos yesterday and next thing I knew he was outside quite literally sawing the xmas tree into tiny bits! I was gutted, it was such a beautiful tree I wanted to keep it in the garden just to look at. I also had one last listen of xmas music in the car today . I'm trying to keep looking forward - valentine's day, mother's day, summer, the dd's birthdays etc. Onwards and upwards.

But it isn't - at least in Spain. Tomorrow, there is the Parade (the Three Wise Men arrive) and the lookers-on get showered with sweets. Now, this can hurt . They bring the presents with them. Oh, and there is a special cake, with a king hidden inside (a bit like money in the Christmas pudding)and more cava - it's a nice way to start the year.

I feel sad to. Dh has to go back to work and dd has to go back to school. No long days together pottering about the house to look forward to

Can't think of any good things about it being over, sob! I had both DDs home (one still here, goes back to Ox on Thurs) and we had a lovely time building up to it with trips to Xmas fairs and Christmas at the Castle and a couple of carol serivces, and it was all just so lovely. Watched lots of Xmassy films, did cooking together, and the actual Eve and Day were wonderful. 'Family-bubble time' is a lovely way of putting it. Glad I'm not the only one feeling this way.

Only good thing is that we began it all on Dec 1st when DD came home, so only 10 months and a bit to go till the next one ;)

I've never felt so sad about it being over! think am going to have to make Easter a family get-together-type affair, as it should be really...

dh and ds chopped tree up and put it in bag today, ready for recycling collection

I'm sad it's all over too as it never really happened here this year DS1 was in and out of hospital until they finally diagnosed appendicitis. Poor thing had only just come out of hospital after having his adenoids out, so it's really been a rubbish one this year.

poor ds, Sarahhal, hope he's on the mend now and 2008 proves a better year!
