What about trying raspberry leaf tea? Didn't work for me but know several people that it seemed to work for. Are you due for a hospital visit because a membrane sweep is another option which I believe can work?

Mine was due Jan 6th but everyone was convinced it was going to be early as it was so low and my third. Did everything (curries, sex , nipple stimulation, long walks, visualisation techniques) but couldn't face castor oil (MIL suggestion). Even had a voluntary sweep!! My girls were early (1 and 2 weeks respectively). HE arrived on Jan 14th!! Labour and birth fab though - an hour and a half from first twinge to delivery.

Sorry but I do think they come when they are ready. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I had reflexology (by midwife) at 40 week antenatal checkup at 2pm. Had ds that night. Sure it triggered it. And it feels soooo lovely too. Good luck.

I was ten days over and had two sweeps previous and fear of induction helped kick start my labour! I tried all the other things too apart
from the castor oil, the only thing I didn't try.
Wish I had somehow.

Strangely enough I had a reflexology appt booked for the day baby arrived.

When is your due date Mosschops?

your baby will come when he/she ready, Mosschops. you've got a good while till due date anyway. don't panic! enjoy the calm before the storm, this bit is easy compared to what comes after the birth!

Relax!!
sorry.(I know how you feel - I was very overdue with dd)

Try and take your mind of it, somehow- watch a really good film.. have a glass or 2 of wine, have a really good laugh, forget about what is due to happen.

(I know, I know.. but tension/anxiety etc will only stop things happening)

Perhaps things are already underway?? < big positive vibes your way>

Acupuncture is meant to be a dead cert. Not sure if that's a helpful suggestion at 10pm on a Friday night though. Good luck! I was due to be induced on a Monday, nothing by Friday night, woke up on Saturday morning in labour (though sex may have had something to do with this )

Raspberry leaf tea did it for me. I bought a packet of 50 RL tea bags from Holland & Barrett at 39 wks, drunk 3 cups of tea one day and went into labour that night (thought nothing of it). Didn't want to waste the tea bags so gave some to my mum and some to my aunt- mentioned nothing about the possible contraction inducing side effects. The following week they both told me, separately & on diferent occasions, 'those tea bags you gave me caused the most horrendous pains, felt like period pains, thought I was going into labour' - spooky (by the way they are both in their late 60's and long since the menopause.

i swear homopathy works..i was 3 weeks over with my son( i know ..dont ask) so i made a coscious decision..not again so after 10 days over with my daughter i went and got my kit from the homeopathy(you can hire them or buy the kit for about £200 and it certainly helped in lbour and after!! anyway i took my doses and after every dose within an hour i got twinges but nothing for one day and then the next day again i got the twinges every time i took one and then it kick started it and it was the easiest labour and birth ever..absolutly bril so give you mearest homeopath a call and get the kit ..its worth it..good luck

Mosschops - I refused an iduction at 11 days over even though I desperately wanted my baby to be born as I had crippling sciatica I tried everything. Walking, raspberry leaf tea, curry, sex you name it I did it. In the end DH saw something on the internet about nipple stimulation. So for twenty minutes I was sat there thinking yeh right....45 minutes later my waters broke. TRY IT! We did on day 14, it was the last resort for us and it worked!

Dehydration worked for me - i.e. a nice hot bath and a glass of wine. And even if it doesn't work it's still a lot more fun than chugging raspberry leaf tea!!
