Bereavement

I've finally looked at the pictures that the midwves took of little Bo.

It has taken me nearly two years. I know that some people who lose a baby during or soon after birth find comfort in looking at photos and hair etc. But for me it's been something that I've avoided.

On New Year's Day I opened the envelpope and little folder that the midwives had put his photos, hair and footprints into. And, although I cried, it was good...no, that's not the right word, but you know what I mean... to see him again. There's a picture of him in the plastic NHS cot with Elijah, his twin - and I'm glad that I've got that photo. The midwives said at the time that it sometimes helps to have a picture (if posible) of twins together as it's the only picture, apart from US scan pictures, that parents have.

Thanks to all of you who've been here for me after and since Bo's death.

Oh bubble

I am so glad you have all those things for Bo, especially the photo with Elijah, which must be very special. I treasure the things I have of Joseph's. He would have been 5 this week, and I promised myself some time to look through them, but it hasn't happened yet...

I am thinking of you all xxx

(threelittlebabies btw, with a new name in honour of Joseph's birthday)

Bubble, I don't do many mumsnet hugs, but I'm sending one through the ether to you.

I can't think of anything else to say that doesn't sound patronising or insincere or just wrong, but I'm sending you all good wishes to you and your family x

Bubble I am glad that you have reached a point where you have been able to look at them, I'm sure that they will be a massive comfort to you for a long time to come - esp of Bo and Elijah together.

I'm like Posey, I have often thought about you all but have always felt a little shy in speaking up to ask you as I don't really 'know' you. Silly I know!
