Boys and killing, kung fu kicks, I'm gonna kill you etc.......

My ds is 3.5. All day every day he wants to dress up as superman/bat man/buzz lightyear and hates it when he has to wear normal clothes. All he talks about is killing, shooting and deading things, when friends are around to play it's all king fu kicks with sound effects.

He does not sit still ever. He has an answer for everything, and this morning when I refused to get him more juice, he replied ' If you don't get me my juice now I'm going to have to kill you' followed by hs cheeky grin.

Gosh boys are exhausting. Every where we go people comment on how active he is and how I must be busy.

Not at all worried about him, he is a delight. But please say thay other boys are like this too.

i have three boys. ds3 is only 16m so not quite at that stage yet but the other two are. all three are constantly on the go, always rough play and they are exhausting!

i dont allow them to threaten me though, its not tolerated at school either. remarks like that end with a swift trip to the naughty step!

Yes - just the same - DS2 (22 months) gets DS1's toy drill out and walks round going "pow pow pow" while ramming it into your stomach

DS 4 threatened to dead me this morning, I told him he would miss me, he assured me that he wouldn't.

When I pointed out that there would be no more traffic light toast as I would be deaded, he relented.

This morning at school drop-off, ds1 was charging round the playground with his pals and I heard him say 'I'm going to cut your head off' Now - he's only 4.5 AND the only thing he watches on TV is Nick Jnr!!! Lord knows where this has come from. Must have been from one of his new monster classmates

Not worried either - my brothers were the same and they perfectly nice, well adjusted adults!

Oh, I've never been threatened with death

In fact, the incident I describe below is actually the only one - not seen it at home and ds2 (almost 3) doesn't do it.

It's a school thing for ds1 I think - he's talking about Power Rangers and he's never seen it!

DS2 (worth £195 - any bids) can't walk for more than about 30 seconds without running and doing a power ranger kick or some such rubbish. I mourn the loss of CBeebies in our house. Jetix has had to be banned completely.

DS1 is 4 and generally well-behaved (well, I think so anyway). He doesn't generally threaten to kill me, but to kick me, etc etc. And there are lots of ninja kicks and fake fighting and so on. I am always stopping him doing fake fighting with people he's never met before, dogs, etc, as they might not understand. (Actually, I don't think I understand ...)

My ds (5) is the same.

When I said to him I didn't like guns (not that we give him any - but he makes them up - and he does have a couple of light sabres) and that killing wasn't nice, he tunred to me and said, "But sometimes they are bad people and you need to kill them".

Thinking quickly, I responded, "wouldn't it be better to teach them to be nice?" Not sure he was convinced though!

No picking on cod for her lack of typing. I think she does very well with her funny little fins.
