We're still short of boys names. DS is called Freddie and I thought Eric might be quite nice. Middle name will be Arthur.
Does it tick the nice, popular but not too popular box?

Nope it doesn't, sorry, I know a one year old Eric and it's odd on a baby.

Eric is a name that we are considering as well. When DH first suggested it, I wasn't sure but it is growing on me, so I will be interested to see the response this thread gets.

I like it. I'm not sure it ticks all the boxes for me, but its a nice name. I'm a fan of good, solid, sensible names though. DH isn't unfortunately!

My Grandad is called Eric, i think this name is not old fashioned in a cool way, but in a never ever use again way.

The Prince in The Little Mermaid is called Eric.
love it.but not wholly convinced by Eric Arthur. they run together too much, (almost like MacArthur...McCarthy...I think. but both are good names.

I think its quite cool, but would go for a really middle of the road middle name so that if he really hated it he could use his middle name.

Quite like it. Goes well with Ernie Freddie.
Houston we have a problem - Freddie is too similar to Ernie, but if you don't mind, go for it
Hmmm. Back to the drawing board.
We did talk about Arthur as the first name but it seemed a bit too old fashioned.
Bugger, why are there so few, nice boys names?

wasabipeanut - you can have some of mine I had 3 DDs so never got to use any?!?!
what about
hector
Stanley
Roan
Gilbert nn Bertie
Gabriel
Will
Bryn
Seth
I like a lot of those Dizzy but DH has already vetoed Stanley and Gabriel.
However, Gilbert I like a great deal. Will is also on the list but a friend has just called their DS Will so felt a bit bad pinching it.

I kinda like it. Maaaany moons ago I used to babysit for an Eric and his sister Hilda (their mum was Swedish) so it makes me think of vikings. Nice strong name. I like.
Sadly Zanz1bar DH is also less than convinced on Eric - I was just testing the water.
I don't even know if it DS but we are woefully short on boy names.
