I don't like it sorry. I like strong and meaningful names. Plus to me it's a naughty boys name.
However. That is only my opinion not a fact. I could ask opinions on a name you don't like. The world wouldn't go round if we all liked the same things, would it, so if you like it go with it.

I like it, but I suspect it won't be popular on here as it sounds "American".

Not my style - as kate says it sounds American and I don't like that. But I suspect we aren't going to have the same taste!

It sounds like an 80s American teen star. Quite cute on a little boy but not on a grown man.

I like it OP.

Op unless it's in the top 10 and snoozetastic you wont get a good response on here. I like it it's lovely to hear something different!

I don't really like it. It's a bit Brayden/Jayden like for me.

I don't like it - too American for me but that's just my taste. If you love it, go for it

I know one and he is an absolute horror. So in my eyes I see it as a 'naughty' boys name.

I like it. Kind of a surfer dude name.

Ha! Yep, pretty much.

And 'it's a naughty boy's name' is code for 'I once knew a poor person called that'

I love Cody by the way OP!

TRUE!

Not my cup of tea-don't like names which sound like you're trying to be cool.

I once knew a poor person called Cody. He and I were 8 and I recall him being rather dashing and daring. It's not my style of name but I think it's interesting and if you like it: do it!

EssentialHummus · 22/09/2016 11:36

I'd assume you were American, but otherwise no reaction either way from me.

InTheseFlipFlops · 22/09/2016 11:37

I know a few and they are all ummm challenging.
But if you like it, go with it.
It depends what day and time you put a name up here as to the response you get! so go with what you love

For a bit of a change of direction, I've only known one Cody and he was privately educated, not American, and was an absolute gem.

Never understood this "naughty boys" name thing. Naughty boys come with all sorts of names.

Report
chinlo · 22/09/2016 11:51

It makes me think of a surfer dude too.

Not my style simply because I don't like names that end in an "ee" sound on grown men. But there's nothing inherently wrong with it - if you like it, go for it!

We are planning Casey for our little boy who is due any day so it's sort of along the same lines.
