That's it really.
Found out we are having a 2nd girl yesterday. Our 1st DD is Anna Isabelle, both classic not too popular and family related names.
However really struggling with DD2 name. Like Rose/Rosa and Sophia but too popular. (I had a popular name in the 70s and hated being known with my surname). DH has suggested Doris (which is NOT happening!!!).
Any ideas oh wise MNnetters????
Thanks

Ha, read the thread title and was going to suggest Anna!
How about Katherine, Phoebe, Martha, Natasha, Emily, Grace, Elizabeth, Georgina, or Philippa?
(My DD is Anna and I love it)

Where I live Isabelle is (when you take into accoutn variant spellings) a much more popular name than Sophia, so I am a bit surprised that you regard Sophia as too popular when you are ok with Isabelle. I think Rose/Rosa Sophia is lovely. Rose is popular as a middle name, but i dont think either Rose/Rosa is overly popular as a first name (similar to Anna I would say) and I think Sophia is no more popular than Isabelle (and dont see why popularity shoudl really matter for a middle name which is rarely used).
Admittedly, my kids and children I come across are a bit older so it may be that my views on what names are popular is a bit out of date.
Are you looking for names to "match" DD1's names - short and then long? Such as Isla Annabelle? Not actually suggesting those, but just trying to clarify what you're looking for . . .
(Congratulations btw )

Josephine? I have an Anna and her elder sister is one of the name you mentioned in your OP but spelt differently (clear as mud
) Just to say the two names are lovely together when you write them in a card, shout them in the street, playground, up the stairs
. My other daughters name (I have 3) is on greenpostit list and it goes lovely as well.
Oh what about Juliet or Claudia (this was my husbands choice for our dd3)

Dilys - we considered using this bit had boys, I've mentioned it lots of times to people with encouragement but no takers, I think it sounds lovely and has been overlooked in the old name revival.
