Neither!
If you can't be talked out of it, then Skye.(is Skyla even a name?!)

Skye is lovely :) Simple and pretty.

I know Skyla is a real name but people might think you couldn't decide between Skye and Isla.

Isla is nicer.

Isla is my first daughters middle name, but we spelt it Ayla.x

like 'em both, but skyla could well end up being spelled 15 different ways which may be annoying, whereas i would imagine with skye you'd be safer.

Im more with Skyla, than Skye and my sister said she'd probably be nicknamed Skye anyway, so to just choose Skyla, but i've had such a bad reaction to the name Skyla :(

I prefer Skye by a long way.

Personally I think Skye sounds much nicer than Skyla; seems more of a classic name to me.

Is there a vote for 'neither'? If not, then Skye is the lesser of two evils... BUT its YOUR baby! :)

another vote for skye i'm afraid! skyla just sounds too trendy to me, something that will date quickly.

I prefer Skye, really love it in fact. Skyla is OK but don't like it as much as Skye.

Not that keen on either but if it has to be one then Skye is much better.

Not keen on either sorry, i prefer skyla of the 2, i always think people watch too much sky tv when choosing the name skye...sorry

grumpywitch · 02/03/2011 21:03

um, if I had to choose, Skye

I think Isla/Ayla and Skyla are far too similar for sisters.

Sklya is very American whereas Skye is Scottish.

Though Skye and Islay (pronounced the same as Isla) are both Scottish Islands, not sure how you'd feel about that?

Skye is nicer IMO.

Ephiny · 02/03/2011 21:23

I definitely wouldn't have Skyla as a sister to Ayla, rhyming names not a good way to go! I think the Scottish Islands connection is fine though, and Skye is a really beautiful name IMO.

I think a couple of you have read wrong in my postings.
I don't have a daughter called Ayla... Her middle name is Ayla, but her first name is Summer.
So if i choose Skyla, she'd have a sister Summer and a brother Dylan.x

Skyla sounds like the name of a car. Nissan Skyla, Mitsubishi Skyla etc. Don't do it.

Oh I see, they wouldn't actually have rhyming first names then Blush, that's a relief! Still prefer Skye personally, and I think it would fit really nicely with your other children's names (which I like a lot as well!)

Oops, sorry that was my fault, obviously didn't read properly
