And I'm enjoying it....yum! grin

Ah yummy

For me it was Brie and grapes on crusty bread. mmmmm

PartOfTheHumphreysGroup Wed 18-Nov-09 15:00:17

yeah, I think that's a bit silly personally. The risks are low but it's an unecessary risk.

BitOfFun Wed 18-Nov-09 15:00:52

I liked my gin, personally wink

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark Wed 18-Nov-09 15:01:09

Not unreasonable imho - but people will judge you...

I also ate 'bad' cheese. It was pretty much all I could face in the first few weeks.

mumblechum Wed 18-Nov-09 15:02:14

When I was preggers all that stuff wasn't fashionable/hadn't been invented.

I'd hate to be pregnant now with all these rules and regulations.

Oooh I missed dippy eggs then I found some on hols in Devon that were from chickens vacinated against salmonella (or some such nonsense) and was in heaven again.

I've never understood why you aren't advised to avoid chicken and rice during pregnancy, as these are the most common sources of food poisoning, and pretty serious food poisoning at that.

*Christmas moon* All eggs with the kitemark on are salmonella free. It's another ridiculously OTT rule imposed on pregnant women.

I craved cider with DS2 - weird as I normally hate apple juice let alone cider. Enjoy but I would just make sure that it is well in date and from a reputable source

Another 'look at me see how risqué I am' thread, about your precious baby.

I'd rather be entirely boring, thanks.

BitOfFun Wed 18-Nov-09 15:05:24

Or subway sandwiches <bad memories>

ChristmasMoon Wed 18-Nov-09 15:05:48

It was six years ago lula, was it the same then? If so why didn't they just tell me that and put me out of my misery??!

TheDevilWearsPrimark Wed 18-Nov-09 15:06:17

Leave the woman alone.

I assume you never left the house when pregnant with your precious baby, surely the risks of getting mown down by a bus are higher

TheDevilWearsPrimark Wed 18-Nov-09 15:06:50

Oh god even the smell of subway makes me retch

Scorps Wed 18-Nov-09 15:07:38

biscuit

I'm pregnant and will do what I like, and vice versa. Different people and their experiences, I think.

I don't really know Christmasmoon. It seems someone out there just likes denying us the things we love.

I had a serious pineapple addiction too, I'd eat them until my lips stung.

And laughed at a concerned friend who told me I'd induce early labour.

YABU, not worth the risk.

I craved blue cheese all the way through pregnancy. So I grilled it on toast, and made lots of stilton sauces (all cooked)

It's not about food poisoning, it's about listeria.

But for either as long as everything is cooked thoroughly it is safe.

ChristmasMoon Wed 18-Nov-09 15:08:11

bastards! grin

kidcreoleandthecoconuts Wed 18-Nov-09 15:09:05

Scorps - That wasn't the intention at all. I wasn't saying look at me putting my baby's life at risk at all. hmm
Just highlighting that as a pregnant woman everything seems out of bounds nowadays.
I don't drink.
I don't smoke.
I don't take drugs.

I've had some blue cheese...so shoot me. hmm

brimfull Wed 18-Nov-09 15:09:12

tis ludicrous not too imo

ChristmasMoon Wed 18-Nov-09 15:09:29

I also remember my sister being absolutley appalled at me putting raspberry jam on my toast. She had got it mixed up with raspberry leaf grin

BitOfFun Wed 18-Nov-09 15:09:53

This is all going to go a bit judgeypants now.
