I'm not talking periods.

I haven't even made the list of what i've got to buy. OMG, I'm insane. There are nephews and nieces. How on earth is this going to come together by 25/12??????? Please help me feel better! I'm feeling completely sick. AND can't start tomorrow as won't have a single second. I've screwed everyone's christmas, and it's all my fault.

Why am I even on MN instead of writing christmas cards????

This happens to me every year! I always think I have ages to prepare, and then suddenly it's a couple of weeks until the big day and nothing is done Xmas Shock
Focus on the basics and get them done first. Any extras/unnecessaries can be addressed then if you have time.
Internet shopping is fab, and most sites have next day delivery options.
But most of all remember that as long as you are happy, healthy and sharing with your loved ones on Christmas Day nothing else really matters in the end Xmas Smile

You can do every bit of xmas shopping in one day if you put your mind to it Xmas Grin

Me. Well I've got a couple of things but not nearly even made a dent in it.

I hate this. I would be better organised if I had more money though. :(

Gift cards are the answer. Bought in minutes, and no wrapping. It's a win-win!

I've only just stated. It crept up, didn't it?

Chill Wine there's loads of time. I don't do my shopping till the week before Christmas due to having to wait till payday. I do makes lists though and all my decorations go up on the 1st. Not doing the usual shopping centre this year, me and Dh have decided to go all out traditional and buy presents from our local high street. The lights are lovely this year and it looks really Christmassy Xmas Smile Looking forward to the odd mulled wine in-between shops to keep us going

It'll be fiiiiiine. It sneaks up on you every year, doesn't it? I've a huge family and have bought nothing for them. My DP is sorted, but he was easy as he told me what he wanted!

I've done nothing so far. I just can't find the motivation. I'm usually finished by now; it's a weird feeling!

Nah, I've done nothing. It's always last minute in our house anyway and this year with a 16 month old and being pregnant I just cannot be arsed. I want a lovely Christmassy house and to have done my shopping and be planning the menu, but I just can't be bothered.

Does that Kirsty Allsop woman do house calls?

I much prefer the last-minute Christmas dash round the shops to having it all done and dusted before the season has even started. It feels so much more Chrismassy and a lot less clinical. The only things I've bought so far are a couple of decorations for the tree (which I really resented buying in November, but I knew they'd all be gone by the time I felt in a Christmas mood) and will maybe start thinking a bout presents next week.

There's plenty of time, OP. It is possible to do in a day.

I don't recommend gift cards or act with extreme cautuon, unless you say to the recipient to use it quickly Look at how many shops go bust the first thing that goes pear shaped is that gift cards are null and void.

So glad to see you all! Now I don't feel such a dick.

I've done about 10% of what needs doing and I'm finding it hard to get the oomph required to go over the top and go shopping. I don't like shopping. Could use Amazon. But I don't like Amazon either. Dilemmas...

Online shopping is the way forward. I refuse to go real shopping, I hate it!! My presents are from Animal, Photobox, Amazon, Boots and Prezzybox so far. It's like little presents to myself when they arrive! (Yes, I am a little sad re parcels!)

MusterTheRohirim · 06/12/2016 10:41

My mum usually does this and every year she pulls together a bloody brilliant Christmas for everyone. You can do it!

If you're worried about gift cards, how about National Book Tokens. Boring but lots of bookshops take them. Or a cheque?
