Not one bit. It freaks me out completely. Panicky.
Hugely. Want to cry.

Why? Its completely irrational. I am a fairly sane grown up. But i want to hide.

And its really loud and crashing.

Put in ear plugs, find a quiet dark area of your house and then wait until it passes. I hate it too.

I'm the same with spiders. Put the radio on - loud

and remember it's only god rearranging his furniture Grin

I prefer a more Norse myths style, giants fighting each other explanation.

Of course YANBU. I love it, but understand that palm sweaty irrational fear ( which I have had all day, after seeing a giant hawkeye moth in the garden - it felt like I had pins and needles all over when I saw it, and burst into tears, still feel shaky about it now!)

I love a good storm and feel desperate for one now. Just one drop of rain. Please!! Absolutely sweltering down here near Bristol - not very pleasant at all. Had enough now. Feel like I'm going to explode!!!

I like lightening, not due here, Im a bit north of loveinamist until the middle of the night.

DDs were contemplating sleeping in the tent, not sure that's wise

I don't like it either. I lived at home till I was 24 and if it thundered at night I would still go and wake my mum up Blush now I wake DH!

I'm in Gloucestershire and I am a purple sweat monster - the dog decided to cool off in our sludge pit garden pond and needed a bath - hottest room of the house, smallest window.. trying to keep a stinky dog in the bath.... was hot work

We need a storm - send it on this way PLEEEEEEEEASE...

My 4yo DC1 has taken ear defenders to bed and has said she's scared.

Wine OP

mind you - my dad was struck by lightning once - inside the bathroom (not the same bathroom I'm washing the dog in - that would freak me out) - in the days before taps etc were earthed...

I'd love a storm here. Its so hot and sticky.

Thunder storms are great sorry OP. My mum used to let us all get up in the night and drink hot chocolate while we watched them. she too told us it was God - in this case moving house with bad removal men. I remember one huge crash and she calmly said "stupid people just dropped the grand piano down the stairs" :)

It's not irrational though? They are dangerous

We had a lot of thunder this morning - but no rain! It was just a tease.

thefuturesnotourstosee · 22/07/2013 21:12

Sallying have to admit I do not like dry storms. It has to be a proper one wiht lashing rain and lightening splitting the sky :)

Hope you are ok, you should watch ted- it will help! :-)

I love thunder and lightning, but I do scream out at loud claps. I'm dreading tonight, DH isn't here and I have both children in bed with me to keep me safe.
