AIBU?

To want a different coloured debit card?

I'm with LloydsTSB and they have sent me a new debit card. It's bright green, cheap and nasty looking thin plastic and has a Olympics Logo on it - silly shapes all broken up Hmm I don't even like sport Confused

My current one has that nice black horse on and I want another one like that.

I went into the bank to complain and was told that they're only issuing these green ones.

AIBU to want another horse one?

YANBU

I want to be able to choose different colours too. DH and i both have personal and joint accounts with Lloyds. For a long time i had a white one with horsey on and a green one. Now they are both green and indistinguishable. Rubbish Angry

I used to have a silver one with the number in silver, blood awful trying to give the number over the phone, if it was bright sun
You couldn't read it if it was dull and dingy you couldn't read it either. The new one is black, it is a great improvement.

Sod it, I am going to change banks!

I've been looking for an excuse to do it for ages now and this is it.

Lloyds are crap anyway and they've never done anything for me apart from wrongly charge me for a loan insurance thingy.

I am going to take my pennies millions elsewhere!

Does any bank have one with animals on?

I'm not keen on black because I'll probably lose it. I want a colourful one Grin

I have a goldfish card which (unsurprisingly) has a picture of a goldfish on it Smile

I have accounts with FirstDirect and HSBC, which means I have three virtually identical black visa cards in my wallet - one visa credit, two visa debit/cash cards. Very annoying - I keep getting them mixed up and using the wrong pins.

They do this better in Japan: banks usually offer you a choice of what design you want on your card, some quite plain or subtle, but lots of them involve cartoon characters. I think I ticked the wrong box on the application form at Mitsubishi once and ended up with Minnie Mouse. And no, this was not an account aimed at children.

Is it Barclaycard who used to have a ticky box with different pics like lions and icy wildernesses you can choose from? I used to want a credit card because of it.

You can personalise them in New Zealand - my mate has one with a picture of her Sky Diving on it.

My loyalty card for some hotel group gave me a load of pictures to choose from to go on the card. I have a lovely picture of some tropical beach. There's no reason why banks couldn't do the same.

Natwest used to allow you to upload a picture of your choice and have your debit card personalised. Cost £10 I think. Not sure if they still do this though. My mum had her dog on hers!!

YANBU.

I have three HSBC cards that are all identical apart from the numbers. It is a huge pain in the arse, and you would think that an international bank would be able to figure that the extremely simple solution to the daily purse confusion would be to issue different coloured cards. It's really not rocket science.

I loved my horse one, and hate my green one, especially as it doesn't expire until 2014.

I'm stuck with it until then.
