AIBU?

Sometimes Poundshop is not the answer?

I know this is tedious in the grand scheme of things but Im due this month and dessert is currently very important to me!

Just asked DP to pop to Tescos on way home and pick up some afters. I dont care what, maybe some kind of yoghurt/microwavable pudding.

Hes going to Poundshop because he buys absolutely everything in there and its 'on the way' (its at least 2 bus stops out of the way). Admittedly sometimes its good... but what am I possibly going to get by way of afters?!

AIBU because I dont want to have broken biscuits or perhaps a packet of Haribo for afters tonight?

[warms the car up to pop to Tescos myself]

He may buy you some kitchen and bathroom cleaner as you will have a lot of spare time soon :o

Ooh- he will come home with a bag of assorted screwdrivers, I just know it! Every time my dad goes there he brings home random tools. Still, it'll be a nice heavy bag to swing at him if he brings a crap dessert!

YANBU - the amount of times I walk in there and think - WTF does this shop sell that is actually any use?

On another point - do you not have the makings of a bread and butter pudding? Its very satisfying when you need pudding.

oooh! Bread and Butter pudding! But we have only a half off seeded batch loaf. Half off because DP bought it in Poundshop!

Jaffacakes and a tub of faux nutella is my lot tonight, I bet.

They have all kinds of things - angel delight, microwavable sponge puddings, rice pudding, custard etc If he fails in his mission, send him out again Grin

YANBU.

send him a text saying that if the pudding he brings home didn't come from tesco's/isn't edible warmed up with custard that you are not going to let him in the house.

and dead-bolt the door so he can't get in.

how dare he do this to you in your condition! Shock

Our Poundshop was put out of business by 9TP.

What time can we expect to be informed of his purchase?

Grin

I have a lovely Toffee Pudding and Custard if you want to pop over??

Get him to text you the options while hes there. If its all crap demand a large bar of fruit & nut / insert chocolate of choice all to yourself.

I will definately keep you informed. If he only buys afters, we can expect a result in about 20 mins. But knowing him, he will stop to look at the failed autobiographies, tool boxes, Dangermouse DVD's and plastic photoframes.

Now toffee pudding and custard would be a win! Grin

Our poundshop sells bacon and yoghurt. I realise that this is not pudding Grin but perhaps yours will also have a chiller cabinet stocked with chocolate mousse

It was from Sainsbo's not Poundshop Grin and you'd be more than welcome to share!

OK so we can expect him to be at least 50 minutes then.... will be back later to check!

I have a friend with a bit of a Poundshop obsession so we go fairly often even though it's not that convenient. Somehow or another a Toblerone always jumps into my pushable basket (what do you call those things??)

YANBU - they do not sell trifle Grin and if they did it would be rubbish. Sometimes we are worth the extra pound!!

Oh for God's sake....you do realise I shan't sleep tonight for worrying about the dessert if you don't update us?

As an aside, our pound shop sells fruit cake from a fictional farm. Also chocolate misshapes and Constance Carroll makeup, it's a veritable treasure trove. Grin

Fruit cake from a fictional farm sounds a bit sinister to me!

Still no word. The longer I wait the more convinced I am that its Haribo.
