...... People don't change their bed sheets for 2-3 months?

I can't believe it. I change all ours weekly, not least because there is nothing quite like getting into a fresh bed.

But 2-3 months without clean sheets? Surely not????

pass the bucket, riven! we were about to eat as well.

Pioneer Sun 05-Sep-10 17:48:42

I read somewhere that they should be done weekly to kill off bedbugs - I think we do ours about every fortnight, but we have been known on the odd occasion to leave it a bit longer..blush

Depends what you get up to in there! In my case, I need never change my sheets - although I did today.

No Riven, I don't believe they are students! Me and my mate are sitting here cringing at how the sheets must smell and how the bed bugs must be in bed bug heaven!

ratspeaker Sun 05-Sep-10 17:50:10

eeeeeew

traceybath Sun 05-Sep-10 17:50:30

Oh dear - don't let Getorfmoiland read that - she'll die!

I change mine once a week - clean sheets are one of the great joys aren't they?

AncientStarlight Sun 05-Sep-10 17:50:56

That's grim. I change mine once a week. If you leave them any longer, you'll get dustmites and probably bum crumbs.

When my brother was in student digs, he didn't change his sheets for ages. I don't know exactly how long but when my mum and I went to visit him close to the end of term, his sheets were minging! His pillowcase actually had discoloured where his head lay and the pillow had a permanent dent in that spot. My mum went mental. She threw the entire set out along with the mattress and then washed her hands a million times, screaming at him the whole time. I can't tell you how pleased it made me to see dear bro in trouble grin

The worst bit was that he kept telling her she didn't need to do it as he was moving out in 5 weeks and changing it would be a waste shock hmm

borderslass Sun 05-Sep-10 17:52:00

The most I've gone is 10 days and that's if I'm not well usually all the bedding gets done on a Friday.

eeeeew how gross! [feels a bit sick emoticon}

RunawayWife Sun 05-Sep-10 17:53:33

shock every week here

YunoYurbubson Sun 05-Sep-10 17:53:47

I wish I could change our sheets once a week. I long for seven days in a row where someone doesn't wee or vomit on the bed. Unfortunately all our sheet changes are the 3am type and happen far more frequently than once a week.

expatinscotland Sun 05-Sep-10 17:55:32

Once a week here, too. Mattresses aired weekly, too. Turn mattresses once a month as well.

2rebecca Sun 05-Sep-10 17:59:41

Would like to say weekly, but I suspect it's more fortnightly. Mattress gets turned every time sheets and mattress cover washed.

lazylula Sun 05-Sep-10 18:05:38

I normally do weekly in the Summer and fortnightly in the Winter, occasionally it may be longer but certainly not 2 to 3 months!
