Small, fun present for a boy of 10?

A great-nephew I don't often see, and in any case I haven't a clue about what boys that age might like. I give money as well, so a fun present of no more than about £10 - any ideas gratefully received.
I don't want anything 'educational' and books are out since I haven't a clue what he's got. I don't mind if it's 'tat', as long as it's something he'll be pleased with.

fire starter or wire saw go down well for that age. Or a pen knife.. (to be used under supervision obviously)
