Help! Which Lego?

My SIL has requested we get a "big box of Lego" for our nephew (6.5) this year. Am happy to oblige but no idea what to start with... My daughter (7) has a pink box, but can't find equivalent blue one, there's either a farm one (too young?) or a huge one for £40. My limit is £30 really. Any help? Don't think he has much already, so think we're kick starting a collection rather than adding to one like the city/ninja/Star Wars... SIL didn't seem keen on those..

A week tomorrow. If you can order it and get it shipped on the 15th it might come in time. I had this problem with a box of pink lego years ago, sold out everywhere before Xmas and hard to get hold of.

Check your local Argos stock checker.

Just get the basic bricks (21 pounds for 650)
shop.lego.com/en-GB/LEGO-Basic-Bricks-Deluxe-6177?fromListing=listing

Then some wheels (10.49) shop.lego.com/en-GB/LEGO-Wheels-6118?fromListing=listing

plus a huge shallow plastic box that goes under the bed. Much better than the deep ones that lego provide.

How about this box from Toys R Us? www.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Toys/Construction/LEGO-Build-and-Play-Box-4630(0096411)?searchPosition=0&cm_mmc=Affiliate_CJ--1546795--11421823--Toys_Toys+R+Us&ga_cj=Affiliate_CJ--1546795--11421823--Toys_Toys+R+Us

It's £29.99 but if you use code 9908083859991 you can get £5 off a £20 spend making it just £24.99.

There's a lego creative bucket available at Argos half price at £9.99. You could also get a box of wheels, doors, and/or some mini figures which together would be a good all round start Tia collection.
