just a colour print from the computer, not a massive studio print or anything. Would you like to receive that?

If I was a reasonably close relative and didn't see the DCs every week or so, sweet. Otherwise naff.

Not unless they were my GC's or at a push nieces and nephews.

No, my Mum has a friend who sends me a card (she is same age as me) and does this, and I think it is lovely. It would probably depend on how old the children are though.

Lovely - no matter whose kids they are :) It's lovely to see how they're growing up! Ignore all the bah humbugs :)

Family and close friends only (if you really want to) Everyone else will look once, comment on who they look like and then lose it

Ooh a bit of a mix of replies! If it makes a difference it includes a 'new' baby - well, 8mo but lots of people haven't met him

Naff. And I am not a 'bah humbug' Smile

Doesn't matter if some people think it is naff. It's no big deal and you won't be there to see their bah humbuggy reactions!

I only do it for my BIL who lives in Oz, so doesn't see the DCs very often. I know that he, well probably my SIL, displays them and likes getting them. I also give GCs a school photo as well, usually come about Xmas time. But anyone else a definite no.

I think it's a lovely idea (and I do it!) for friends/family that you don't see very often - I don't use FB so have no idea what people's children look like. I wish more people do it - my American friends tend to send a photo every year and I look forward to receiving them Xmas Grin.

Serious question - why do some of you think it is naff?

Just had massive deja vu having been browsing mn and fb this pm, then realised it's you asking in both places! I thought I was going mad there Confused
I think it's cute btw :)

I love getting photos of people's children, if I see them rarely or never.
Not naff.

I think it is fine.

We get quite a few studio shots of families, which are nice to see but I never know how to store them. With Facebook, we don't really need the annual photo any more.

But I don't think there is a downside to including a modest photo of your kids.

If I was very close relative, otherwise naff/unwanted.

I think it's lovely for people who don't see your children often. Unless you are one of those people who put 100's of photos on FB and everyone has already seen them.

I like getting photos as we are overseas and I hardly see my friends children.

Hello nomore!!

It's for family that aren't on facebook and maybe a few extra people. Not a proper photo but a very small print out on paper

Not expecting it to be displayed or anything

Thanks for all replies!

I try to always send a little pic of the DC to my relatives at Christmas -- my family live overseas and are happy to get them. I love getting the ones with others' DCs as well.

Bella,

I think it is a lovely idea. Don't try to under-do it by making it too small or grainy though. If you are going to do it, do it well.

I've done this for family and old friends we haven't seen in a long time. I made a mini collage on the computer with about 5 pics from throughout the yr and added a few christmas trees in the gaps. I'd like to receive one, so I assume others wouldn't mind. Smile

I'm in the naff camp as well Blush
