As dh and ds are flying to Oz on Christmas day, leaving dd 15 and I .
Now we are not big XMas people...always spend it just the 4 of us quietly, but go to friends for drinks on the day before lunch. I hate turkey and tend to do sthg I can bung in the oven and leave like lamb or lasagne.
No family near.

So it's just me and dd....no way am I making a massive dinner for us...is there anything lovely in M AND S or Waitrose at the moment?

Do you have a branch of Cook near you? They do lots of special dishes for Christmas, and their food is delicious! It's all frozen, but basically the same as home cooked meals.

My DH gets ridiculously excited about M&S melt in the middle chocolate puddings, you just pop them in the oven for the required time. He likes them with really good vanilla ice cream (I make mine) but Yeo Valley organic or Green and Blacks vanillas are great. I think you can freeze the puds if you want to get them ahead of time.

Bluddy's right about having a lovely time. You can just please yourselves, which is a luxury in itself.

I always fancy those 3 bird roast thingies but no one else does. Think of the sandwiches they'd make for Christmas tea, with stuffing, branston pickle or picalili (my fave meal of the day)....Blush

Cjbartlett....we have no interest in going there at all.
Dh has family there and used to live in Sydney, so they'll have a great time watching cricket and surfing.
