Apologies if this has been done before, but need ideas for stocking fillers for DP. Pref not over a fiver an item (on a bit of a budget this year!). Bit stumped for good ideas! Have done the socks/pants things (although still will prob stick some socks in!) and always put a few choccy bits in too (compulsory Grin )

What do you put in your DP/DH stocking?

Any ideas?!

TIA

Those gel hand warmers that you can recharge?

Small bits from camping shops, like waterproof matches, foil blankets, dehydrated food. You know, for when the train is 30 minutes late Grin.

A Hexbut or some such gadget?

Ha ha - HexBUG. Not but!

Here if my link works Grin. It's a daft toy to bring out the inner child.

That look like great fun! One to put on the list, thanks!

If you know anyone who doesn't really like chocolate, get them some jerky for their stocking.

OK, I will contribute the successes from my last few years' ideas in hope of some new ones in return, since DH routinely ignores/bins "stuff"

keyring-sized LED torch, non-slip pad for putting 'phone on in car, ice scraper. Packet of pork scratchings.

Hexbugs are cool. DS wants lots one.

I've just bought DH a cafetiere mug so he can have nice coffee at work. He wears glasses so have got him one of those glasses repair kits in the past.

My dh likes getting things like travel kit for when he travels overseas, laser pens, car cleaning stuff, windup torch keyring, deodorant, bubble bath, T-shirt.

A choc orange (compulsary!) bottle of stella, smellies, socks, a xmas scratch card and xmas lottery ticket, not much but keeps him happy!

I usually put foodie stuff in for dp -

jar of pickled onions or 'posh' chutney
Guinness chocolate or other chocs
He insists on a chocolate orange although I think they are revolting
Pork pie (if he's lucky it will be a Selfridges one)
a new water bottle or running socks or something
a magazine or book

Halfords is good for Man Tat.

Mr OTH gets the weird sweets he likes (eg Caramac bars), car-related stuff (chamois leather, key ring, chrome polish etc), miscellaneous Man Tat (Halfords is great for Man Tat), little bottles of booze, that kind of thing. Also books, wee gadgets and sometimes daft cuddly toys.

Oddly enough he often likes/uses stocking presents more than any 'main' presents I've got him. A zippable bag in clear plastic in the right size for putting toiletries through airport security (£5 from Muji) was a storming success a couple of years ago and is in heavy use when he travels with work. Ditto the thermos cup with a lid, cos he never has time to finish his tea in the mornings.

Lottery ticket is a great idea - I'm nicking that, thanks MrsSawyer Grin

Mine's got a book 101 things to do before you die. Some magic stuff you chuck on the fire to make coloured flames. Dh is obsessed with our woodburner. Some chewing nuts, his favourite. A scratchcard, a thermal mug, some hankies (wish he'd use tissue!), Some iphone app magnets and a top trumps game of top plops.

I didn't know that you could still buy Caramac - used to love it!

Maybe our local Country Store just has some Caramac bars left over from the 1980s...? Grin

Hot sauce, badges, Berocca.

No, you can definitely still get Caramac - I speak from recent experience of eating a shitload. I remember when they were 5p each!

DH gets minature bottles of baileys, walnut whips, new stationery supplies (bit like the kids get at beginning of new term), new head for his toothbrush, shower gel etc. Ordered quite a few bits from Presents for Men a few weeks ago, but in line with my advanced age, can't remember what (and am too lazy to go upstairs to look).

Do you think the men put this much thought into ours?! Anyway, so far for DP I have got him a tube full of bath stuff from lush, hotel chocolat chocs, some slipper socks (he is jealous of mine!!), and I am going to get him a comedy dvd and some jelly bellys! Will fill the rest with little bits like car air freshner, and funky pens/pads for work! Oh, and a tangerine :D

I always get my dh something from ann summers! Its the only time in the year i shop there. A little tradition for just him and i to share. Last year it was a trio of intimate massage lotions. This year its a pack of sexual positions... Blush

Remembered another couple I've done before that have gone down well - Moleskin notebooks or tiny Muji notebooks (which cost mere pennies) and bookmarks/those magnetic booktag things.

Top trumps: crap cars, I think there are two versions
