Fake tree - white or black one?

Fed up with a real tree so considering a fake one this year - I thought I'd get a white or black one as baubles are all jewelled colours - pinks/purples/gold/silver etc - which would look better do you think?

I saw a black tree at the weekend and it was awful. IMO anyway, others maybe like them

Ours is black and we love it. We decorate it heavily with silver decorations and white lights. Our kitchen family room is black, white and silver so it even co-ordinates :)

I can't seem to find a regular coloured smallish one, everything is in odd colours like bright pink or black! Can't say I really like them.

We used to have a very realistic green one. We got ours from a local garden centre.

Black trees are fab. Ours sounds similar to Dexters and looks great.

Black trees are cool. We have one. You have to decorate them in quite a glam, co-ordinated way though, I'm not sure they could carry off a load of mismatched decorations that the children had made!

Hmm - still undecided - it'll go in the sitting room which is cream and brown sofas.

I know that I definitely don't want something that is trying to look like a real tree - if I'm getting a fake tree it definitely has to look fake iyswim

Oh I definitely don't do coordinated, so I think I'm not worthy of a black tree! I have a mishmash of decorations and sentimental ornaments I brought back last time I went home. My brother converted to Judaism so I got everything Grin

I do take your point about a fake tree trying to look real not being exactly right either. I'd like a small real one but DH is moaning about needles everywhere. Like he'd know, he's never had a real one!

I don't gert co-ordinated Christmas Decorations and Trees. In our house it's bright and cheerful colours, DC's have always decorated the tree.

Our black one goes in the kitchen/family room. the dcs decorate it but there are only silver and the odd white decorations in that box.
We generally put the green tree up in the hall or the lounge and the kids decorate it. It started off with just gold decorations but over the years we have gathered decorations given as gifts or ones the kids have made and they go on there.
The house is generally also full of decorations the kids have made as well. My black tree is the one little oasis that is my style. Surely I am allowed one little bit?
