Women and their families

We believe our homes should be a safe place. From supporting parents of children with additional needs to campaigning to improve the Child Maintenance Service we support causes that are close to home.

#FixtheCMS campaign

Over the years we’ve seen thousands of Mumsnet users talk about the difficulty of getting child maintenance payments from uncooperative exes – and lots of anger about how the Child Maintenance Service addresses the issue.

In June 2020 Mumsnet joined forces with Gingerbread and the Good Law Project to support a legal case against the Department for Work and Pensions, as part of our campaign to fix the Child Maintenance Service.

CMS didn’t collect a penny off my ex... They wrote to me 2 years ago to say they were writing off £35k - that money could have put my daughter through university - another thing I have had to pay for
Our Let Girls Be Girls Campaign

Let Girls Be Girls was launched in early 2010, and grew from Mumsnetters' concern that an increasingly sexualised culture was dripping, toxically, into the lives of children.

The campaign aims to curb the premature sexualisation of children by asking retailers to commit not to sell products which play upon, emphasise or exploit their sexuality.

This Is My Child campaign

Our campaign aims to support parents of children with additional needs, inform everyone else, and open up a conversation about how we can all act together to make day-to-day life a bit easier for everyone caring for children with additional needs.
