Key specs

RRP on writing: £185 | Features: Dual-chamber diffusion, app controlled, scheduling capabilities, guided breathing | App: Search for “The Atomiser Connect” in your phone’s app store, or download from Apple Store or Google Play

Now, if you can’t justify the price of a spa day, I wouldn’t blame you for slightly cringing at the price of The Atomiser Connect. At £185, it’s one of the more expensive diffusers out there (if you compare it to the NEOM Luxe Wellbeing Pod that’s £135). With that said, honestly, I’d argue that you should consider it an investment. Plus, unlike the NEOM Wellbeing Pod, The Atomiser Connect has two essential oil chambers, not one. So with that said, it's a two-in-one diffuser when you think of it like that.

From the moment of unboxing, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with The Atomiser Connect. A lover of candles, I tend to avoid reed diffusers and wax melts. Although, this is mainly because we have a sensitive little dog at home, and from experience, not all scents and products are suitable for use around pets. Understandably, this was a concern during testing The Atomiser Connect - in fact, the instructions do say to avoid heavy usage in rooms with children and pets in. So, with that in mind, I set the ceramic diffuser up in our master bedroom.

The Atomiser Connect

Due to its design and materials, the dual-chamber diffuser is luxe and suits most, if not all, interiors in your home. I especially love the fact that it can be charged with the provided USB cable, but is in fact wireless, and can be moved easily from room to room depending on where you’d like to use it. Personally, I’ve had it on in the master bathroom during an at-home spa evening as well as in our bedroom itself. What’s more, there’s an Aromatherapy Associates app you can download that allows you to uniquely personalise presets and control the level of diffusion and light colour remotely.

Final verdict: At £185, you would expect your home to instantly transform into an aromatherapy spa. And you know what? The Atomiser Connect does just that. Whether you want a quick hit of essential oils, or a slower build up over 30 minutes or three hours, this dual-chamber, ceramic diffuser is certainly a worthy investment if you want to prioritise self care at home.

  • Used daily over a couple of weeks

How does The Atomiser Connect work?

The Atomiser Connect uses advanced nebulising technology that releases pure essential oils into the air as a micro-fine mist. No heat is used, or water, which helps to preserve the oils’ therapeutic properties for maximum well-being benefits.

Thanks to its dual-diffusion feature, you can effortlessly switch between blends - using an uplifting aroma in the morning, and a more calm and soothing scent in the evening. For larger rooms where you might want a stronger scent, you can place the same essential oil in both pods for a more intense, longer-lasting aroma.

The Atomiser Connect

One downside is that the diffuser's customisation is controlled by the app. There are buttons on the back to control duration and which pod you'd like (in standard and boost modes), but as far as customisation goes, this is restricted to the app. In the app you’re able to set up personalised schedules, customise your presets and intensity adjustments, and also follow guided breathing exercises that are included in the app to experience the full benefits of aromatherapy at home.

How easy is it to set up The Atomiser Connect?

  1. Remove the metal cover, remove the diffusion head and attach it to your chosen essential oil bottle.

  2. Re-insert the diffusion head and bottle into your chosen pod (Pod 1 or Pod 2), making sure the diffusion head air inlet is aligned with the symbols.

  3. Replace the metal cover.

Surprisingly easy, actually. So much so that it’s almost an out of the box product. Although, I will admit I was a little confused at first over what the little silver tool was for. Turns out, it helps you to open your essential oil bottles.

Once I’d figured that bit out, the rest was very simple. Once you’ve opened your bottles, you only need to insert the diffuser heads into your selected essential oils. I received Deep Relax and Revive to test out, so it made sense to use Revive in the morning and Deep Relax in the evening.

Thanks to the buttons on the back, once charged, you're ready to go with using the diffuser. A press of a button and you can set the duration (30 minutes, one hour or three hours) and whether you want Pod 1 or Pod 2 in standard or boost mode. But you are limited with customisation - for this, you'll need the app.

The Atomiser Connect

Thanks to the application on my smartphone, I was able to set up a schedule so that the diffuser would kick in at specific times of the day when I knew I’d be in our master bedroom.

For example, I set it so Revive would boost for 30 minutes on a morning as I get ready for the day. Whereas I set the diffuser up for Deep Relax before bedtime to wind down from the day... For this schedule, I set the light as purple and had it on standard mode for one hour.

Our final verdict

Value for money:
Performance:
Design:
Technology:
User experience:

When it comes to its price, The Atomiser Connect, in my opinion, is worth the money - particularly if you love aromatherapy and all of its well being benefits.

My only concern with this piece of beauty tech from Aromatherapy Associates is its accessibility… The customisation of the diffuser is controlled fully by the app on your smartphone or tablet. So, if you don’t have one of these (or prefer not to have another app on your phone), then this is probably the biggest downside. There are buttons on the back, though, that allow you to select the duration as well as which pod. But as far as scheduling, presets and lighting goes, these are controlled by the app. Also, at £185, I’d want a plug head included to make sure I don’t use the wrong one during charge and risk damaging the diffuser’s battery and lifespan.

If you’re tech savvy and big into self care, though, then The Atomiser Connect is certainly the diffuser for you to invest in.
