Good to see that she is getting roasted over this

www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/06/29/pride-month-kink-consent/

twitter.com/LaurenRowello/status/1409918632893861892

Along with the reaction to Barclays misfire advert its good to see Twitter users hitting back as one would expect of all the places Twitter would be "yarse queen(ing)" over all of this

I can’t bring myself to read the article but that ratio calms my soul - Over 6k people from all walks of life are utterly rejecting this.

Clymene · 02/07/2021 09:33

She's not only a paedophile apologist, she's a liar.

"bare-chested man in dark sunglasses whose black suspenders clipped into a leather thong. The man paused to be spanked playfully by a partner with a flog."

Shortly followed by: "But kinksters at Pride are not engaged in sex acts — and we cannot confuse their self-expression with obscenity."

What is 'playful spanking' if not a sex act?

I'm not surprised to see she's married to a transwoman. This woman's boundaries have been totally eroded.

www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2020/06/17/im-straight-woman-whose-spouse-came-out-trans-it-didnt-change-thing/

I hope social services are keeping a close eye on their children.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 02/07/2021 09:42

Some of the puppy play stall photographs involving children from one of the recent London Prides - it was entirely clear that the adult in the suit was aroused by it.

That said, I'm seeing a distinct push towards the narrative that men are inadvertently and unintentionally aroused everywhere so women and children ought to get used to it. (First in connection with the spa and then extending to public transport and why women who objected to the first should never use the latter because erections happen there too. - Made me think that that person is not aware of the wretchedness of women commuters having someone do that to them. It's endemic on some systems and in some countries. But, by and large, men to whom this happens tend to position bags and gadgets strategically - it's a warning flag about one if they don't and are sprawled with legs akimbo.)

merrymouse · 02/07/2021 09:43

The kink community has participated in Pride since its inception — risking their jobs and safety to be authentically themselves in public.

Because what do other people’s boundaries matter as long as individuals can be “authentically themselves in public”.

Why prioritise equal marriage when a ‘Kinkster’ probably threw the first brick etc. etc.?

This is an individualist right wing ideology - the equivalent of ‘How dare you tell me I can’t carry a gun around’, but for people who vote Democrat.

It was a small town Pride, but yes it was very concerning to see.

Tesla73 · 02/07/2021 09:53

This article from The Signal shows another tweet she posted of her child (called they) which raises further alarm bells yet the woke media give these people a platform.

Good to see the amount of kickback there has been. I think alot of these outlets thought, as is usually the case, that Pride month is the best time to peddle this sinister nonsense as the great unwashed just have to accept it lest they be labelled phobic but I think this year has been a massive turning point especially with all that happened in June and got reported on (SW scandal, Maya result, Olympics scandal etc)

Years ago I used to take my young daughter and nieces to watch the parade in Brum but stopped once the started having those dog men on leashes and more of the kink side parading through. I actually used to go to the gay village in Brum with my wife but then they started charging a huge amount for entry. But they can do what they want behind the paywall in the gay quarter but when they are parading through the city centre for all to see there needs to be boundaries.

And guess what this years theme is for Brum (further alienating their core demographic, probably at the behest of their SW masters)? birminghampride.com/birmingham-prides-stronger-together-theme-announced/

Note the colour scheme of the website - the takeover is complete - I hope its a massive flop

Not directly related but on same topic - how dare Corrie not pay lip service to Pride (as always with the Bham Mail no comments allowed)

Does that Birmingham Pride site call Storme trans? Someone tell me again that they're not erasing lesbians. Fuckers.

this is why i hope its a massive flop - theres been lesbian protests at past ones in Brum. Hoping this year they just hold their own do and see how successful Pride is when those they pander to dont show up. As we all know the SJW blue hairs make their demands but then never show up - especially if it means they have to hand over money

Ah yes, and Marsha P Johnson being touted as a trans activist when he was a drag queen and a supporter of gay rights. Gay men need to speak up about this.

merrymouse · 02/07/2021 10:19

She seems to believe that the bloke who did something with a goldfish in 'Lace', Jilly Cooper's Rupert Campell Black and Cynthia Payne's very privileged client list are 'part of a queer community [that] encompasses so many more nontraditional ways of being, living, and loving.'

If only Hancock had been doing something 'playful' with a ruler in that video, he could have claimed that he was just coping with the stress of not being his authentic self in public.

FloralBunting · 02/07/2021 10:19

I've just read the article in the OP. I could actually cry. I spent decades coming to terms with a homophobic world that insisted being gay was a perversion, a kinky weird thing, not just two people falling in love who happen to be the same sex. Decades. I was prayed for and abused by people who were convinced it was demon-inspired.

And now a straight woman, in a heterosexual marriage, is posting an article in a mainstream media publication trying to yoke my sexuality back to the idea that lesbians and gays just want to be perverted in front of your kids.

THIS IS WHAT SECTION 28 WAS ABOUT YOU NASTY, BULLYING, BIGOTED SHITBAGS.

You don't speak for me. You are not gay, you are utterly appropriating a struggle you have nothing to do with, and you are absolutely damaging LGB rights in the process.

I've seen a lot of homophobia in my life. It is genuinely getting worse, and this ferociously hideous woman and her ilk are the reason why. SO FUCKING ANGRY I'M CAPSLOCKING AND I DON'T DO THAT.

Yes. Lets not forget that her marriage and her partner's relationship to her children are recognised worldwide, and nobody is making assumptions that the sex they might have would be illegal, even if they don't feel able to authentically express their innate identities at all times.

Clymene · 02/07/2021 10:27

👏👏👏 floral

DulciUke · 02/07/2021 10:50

The comments to the article are overwhelmingly outraged. Glad to see that this response is public on their own site, not just Twitter.

EsmaCannonball · 02/07/2021 11:19

Secrecy and illicitness are an inherent part of kink. If kink becomes mainstream and normalised then people are going to become pushed to more and more extremes to get their thrill. I think that is part of the agenda. It's the same with legalised prostitution; wherever that exists you increase the amount of men looking to pay for more extreme acts or sex with children.

FloralBunting · 02/07/2021 12:02

So incensed I sogned up and commented in an attempt to vent my fury.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/07/2021 13:50

This idiot is like an American Laurie Penny.

dyslek · 02/07/2021 13:59

I am secretly hartened to see Glen Greenwald edging slowly, ever so slowly to becoming gender critical.
Come on Glen, your nearly there. (as Magdelane would say)

trancepants · 02/07/2021 14:19

I honestly don't understand what kink has to do with Pride. I have no actual statistics for this but many straight couples practice all sorts of kink and the vast majority of people in the world are/identify as straight. (Even a huge amount of LGB people end up living as straight as bisexuals make up the largest demographic in the LGB community and the majority of bisexuals end up in long term relationships with people of the opposite sex.) So presumably the majority of the world's kink is practiced by straight people.

So why the fuck would a sexual practice that is almost certainly mainly practiced by straight people be a big part of Pride? Possibly, proportionally more kink is practice in the gay community? But is that even true? And it rarely seems to be shown as a lesbian thing?

Pookah83 · 02/07/2021 14:30

I want to see a huge backlash against this or I am afraid some will take it as permission to continue and build upon it. People have their guard way down when these trojan horses show up with legitimate activism covering them. Nuance is lost.

Clymene · 02/07/2021 14:36

Because they're now queer. Laurie Penny identifies as gender queer even though she's heterosexual and married to a man. This woman identifies as queer, even though she's heterosexual and married to a man.

Pride has nothing to do with LGB any more - it's all about queer and non binary and trans. In my local library's selection of Pride books, there wasn't a single lesbian. There were two books by gay men but the vast majority were by trans people.

It's no longer about sexuality; it's about identity.

FloralBunting · 02/07/2021 14:41

The backlash you will see is a continuing rise in the kind of beatings seen recently in Liverpool. It will be openly LGB people targeted because the Q slur community have cuckooed this hideousness onto us, and the majority of Joe Public will not hear the voices of those of us who are saying it is nothing to do with us, because the Q slurrists are the ones with the corporations and the big names onside.

You tell an every day man on the street that those who are LGBT+ want his children to see people fellating dildos and spanking each other in public, he is not going to care about the difference between a butch-looking woman holding hands with her girlfriend wearing a rainbow pin and the open kink perverts waving the progress pride flag. If he is type of man to get violent, and many are, he will be targetting women like me as much as anyone.

We told you so is cold fucking comfort when I'm actually beginning to be just as scared to be out as I was when I got punched in the head in the 90s. I was called a dyke in passing the other day. These fucking arseholes sit in their comfy little identity bubbles and open the door to hell for the rest of us.
