That have absolutely nothing to do with one another but I'm just putting them here, for later.

I wonder if Middlesbrough Council will proceed with this now? Hmm

DancingRaven · 15/07/2019 16:01

Well, he certainly looks the sort.

Baguetteaboutit · 15/07/2019 16:04

Thanks for converting the link, I thought it happened automatically.

I suppose they'll push on. I think, while there's an open court case, that they wouldn't be able to draw any assumptions without being in contempt of court...although I'm not certain if that's how it works.

If the case ends in a guilty verdict then I suppose they'll deny that their decision was ever strongarmed by this councillor at all but at least at that point it will be possible to ask questions. But, we'll see.

stealthsquirrelnutkin · 15/07/2019 16:06

Wow, what an amazing coincidence. It's almost as if some perverts have ulterior motives for destroying safe spaces that protect women and children.

ZebrasAreBras · 15/07/2019 16:20

Yes, I'm sure these two things are entirely unrelated, and completely coincidental. Honest gov Hmm

I didn't recognise him from the top pic, but when I saw the second pic, I thought "Oh, HIM!" I know him from stuff on twitter, about his fight against the safeguarding of women and children. How utterly unsurprising.

Over to you, Andy Preston. Do you support the wants of suspected paedophiles, or the safety of women and children??

Comingtoatownnearyou · 15/07/2019 16:27

Bloody hell.

That is all I have for now.

DpWm · 15/07/2019 16:28

Quite a coincidence. Rather like the coincidence of so many prominent TRAs ending up with convictions for being a perv of some sort....

truthisarevolutionaryact · 15/07/2019 16:32

Scratch the surface....
It reminds me of the convicted paedophile working in the Scottish civil service who was part of the group enabling male born sex offenders self identifying as women to be placed in women's prisons.

OP - this ought to go onto the 'This never happens ' thread?

Redshoeblueshoe · 15/07/2019 16:32

Gosh Shock

ZebrasAreBras · 15/07/2019 16:37

The esteemed Mayor's reaction. Because of course.

Baguetteaboutit · 15/07/2019 16:41

I'll move it over if anything comes of the court case. It doesn't seem fair while the presumption is that he is innocent. I just wanted to document the two somewhere, in case it is significant.

OP posts:
Manderleyagain · 15/07/2019 16:47

It might be worth linking from the other thread on teesside loos.
That statement by the mayor is a bit abrupt.

Baguetteaboutit · 15/07/2019 16:51

I just barrelled in on the board without checking there might be a better place for it, sorry Blush. It looks like the charges have been mentioned on that thread now, so this on can just sink into the MN ether.

OP posts:
plattercake · 15/07/2019 17:16

This should definitely not be sinking into the MN ether Baguette, you were so right to post. The other thread keeps it all together but it easy to miss it.

Innocent until proven guilty, yes. But is the mayor going for the innocent (naive) until proven stupid approach?

RosaWaiting · 15/07/2019 17:18

platter naive until proven stupid
😂 may I borrow that? Brilliant.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 15/07/2019 17:30

Well that "co-incidence" is really really disturbing

I bizarrely thought nothing could shock me anymore - wrong

Hellmistress · 15/07/2019 17:36

It all goes to show that we GC women don't really need to do that much. The TRAs will do our work for us eventually

corlan · 15/07/2019 17:37

Well I never! What an amazing coincidence! Who would have thought it!

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/07/2019 17:47
Shock Ain't that remarkable.
Binglebong · 15/07/2019 17:53

Fucking hell.

JoyceJeffries · 15/07/2019 17:57

What a bizarre coincidence. This in no way could have been predicted (by anyone with an IQ lower than a pencil case)

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/07/2019 17:59

Wtaf? And that must’ve been a bloody tough paper round or does he self ID as 30?

It’s like the case in Scotland (will dig out). Anyone who is convicted should have any recommendations or activities very very closely inspected.

I know, I'm still just staggered by this news. It's just so unbelievable isn't it?
