Her article re stalkers and trolls is horrifying

Jean, if you are reading, I think you are wonderful for starting the petition for the Ched Evans' complainant and for all the work you have done. Please know that I am thinking of you. Stay strong

She is a wonderful woman, I'll let her know how you feel, thank you!

Bloody hell, it's disgusting that some men will go to these lengths to abuse women that they don't even know based entirley on the fact that they have the cheek to have a voice, an opinion, and a feminist one at that.
I'm pleased we have women like Jean who won't be silenced.
Sorry you had to leave twitter Jean, you don't deserve this shit. There are a lot of women behind you, we support you x

Can anyone tell me if it actually not possible to identify someone from their social media accounts or whether to do so is just a breach of rights ?

Report
Datun · 29/10/2016 13:42

And yes, thank you Jean. Your updates on the go fund me page were moving and strong.

birdybirdywoofwoof · 29/10/2016 13:44

Terrible, terrible to read that.

She - and all those who stand up to these shits - are awesome.

Jean (or Ms. Hatchet - since well, I don't know you and you have enough men crossing the line, without women doing it too), I'm sorry you have to put up with this. I hope the CPS can get it together and prosecute a man who is clearly a danger to women.

I hadn't donated yet, but I have now, on the back of that article.

Bon Chance.

Bah. Foreign language fail... that's what I get for posting enraged.

Jean, thank you so so much for what you do and what you have done with the gofundme for the victim in the Ched Evans case. It's incredibly brave. I am looking forward to donating on Monday when I get paid.

I am sorry you have had to leave twitter due to the actions of misogynist bullies.

SpeakNoWords · 29/10/2016 14:19

Thank you, Jean, for being stronger than me and being able to take action in the face of these vile misogynists. You are a hero to me.

Datun, doxing depending on what information is released can be a crime, unpleasant or extremely dangerous to the person who has been doxed. Is that what you meant?

Report
HillaryFTW · 29/10/2016 14:50

I think Datun meant can twitter tell the police who the wrong doers are...?

Thanks Jean.

Report
Datun · 29/10/2016 15:03

Hillary's right.

Can the police identify Jean's trolls? And if so, why wouldn't they?

Report
Cockblocktopus · 29/10/2016 15:31

That article. Shock

Why, why do men hate women so much?

Flowers for Jean. Keep your chin high.

Report
FreshwaterSelkie · 29/10/2016 16:33

That article is chilling.

We're behind you, Jean. The world needs more like you.

They can and they sometimes do, but the enormous number of them right now is worrying.

I love Jean's campaign! Her updates have been so touching and warm-hearted. Xenophile if you are in contact with her please do pass on my warmest wishes and tell her she is held in^^ high regard.
So sorry for the egregious behaviour from some of the obviously very disturbed seventh circle of the internet. She deserves better - lovely pies and cashmere socks and a sedan chair.

Going to brave reading the article now.

I just don't understand why these men are so full of hatred and bile towards someone they have never met. I almost feel sorry for them and their sad little lives. Then I remember their victims and I just feel disgust towards the trolls.

I support you, Jean Hatchett.

I'm aghast, of course, at the nastiness of the 2-year troll. I think any sane person would be! But I also have to wonder, what kind of a shit spends so much time doing that? Does he not have a job, friends, family, anything to otherwise occupy him?

And such long-term dedication to making one woman's life hell (or trying to - I adore Jean her resilience). (I'm assuming just her, because if he stalks further women, again, where the hell does he get the time?!?!?...)

I was just re-reading Thud. And just got past a part (mind, Pratchett says it often): if they want to kill you, you're doing something right.

I'm so sorry you're getting all this misogynist bile thrown at your and your daughter Jean. It's absolutely despicable and it terrifies me how much some men hate women.

You are a brave woman and an inspiration to the rest of us. Thank you Flowers

Sorry to highlight this post again. I joined Mumsnet yesterday and immediately the troll I wrote about has found me. I won't engage with him. He is still posting the same nonsense. It's troll word soup. Names and stock phrases of dribble about people no one knows. The threat to me is zero nowadays. No one really cares about coming to hurt me. No one but him. I raise money despite his trolling and attempts to sabotage. So I'm not here for sympathy. Please don't give him the gravity of having any effect on me. I don't give him any thought these days.

I don't really understand Mumsnet. No idea how to report.

But .... crucially he is so insane and desperate to stop me helping women he is still revealing the name of rape victims. He can write whatever nonsense he likes about me. I genuinely don't care.

I do care about him using this platform to expose the names of those victims with protected anonymity. And doing it because I'm here makes me feel responsible. On Twitter I block the mere smell of him. I can see that here I'm not able to do that.

I'm happy if you all just ignore him. It really is the best way. I won't even give him a name here as he is too pathetic for words. My advice is not to engage. Just ignore. If it looks like weird drivel that has no relevance in response to a post I make.... that will be him.

I'll stay as long as I can.

Here's info on the troll and his bizarre behaviour. It was 2016! He's the same. I'm very different. I don't care about him.

He is still obsessed with me enough to spot me joining Mumsnet hours after I do. Confused
