I am not sure if I can keep up with everything what's been happening in other countries in the last week but just to let you know there's a momentum growing. We feel that women in various places are beginning to see that they have power and they have to stand up for our rights.
Here are protests and events I managed to learn about.
10-10-16 Seoul, South Korea - In the South Korean version of the “black protest” that swept through Poland in early October, an estimated 300 protesters staged a rally in front of Bosingak Bell at the heart of Seoul, demanding that the government scrap its stricter abortion ban.

16-10-16 Malta, Valletta - Malta's Feminists, men and women, went on the streets this morning in protest against parliamentary committee's recommendation for the morning-after pill NOT to be sold over-the-counter.

Stand with us on the 23rd of October outside the Polish Embassy in London at 1PM !^#czarnyprotest continues!

Just over a week ago on the 3rd of Oct, hundreds of thousands of Polish women went on strike to oppose the bizarre initiative by the anti-choice lobby to legislate a near-total ban on abortion, sex education, emergency contraception, prenatal care, and to even criminalise miscarriages. The effect was incredible! The next day, the Polish government was already backtracking on its support for the bill that they have backed in the Polish parliament just a week earlier and 2 days later, the bill was rejected – both by the Polish and the EU parliament just a few hours apart!
As much as we are happy that we have won the battle against the dreadful Ordo Iuris Stop Aborcji bill, this struggle is by no means over. We already have a new anti-choice agenda submitted to the Polish parliament that we have to fight against! Pretty much as soon as the last bill was defeated in the Polish parliament, a new one has already been submitted. The only difference being that apparently women would not be criminalised for abortions which, after reading the actual proposal, turns out not to be true! Not to mention, there is another proposal that surfaced right alongside it, which is setting out to ban many contraception methods in Poland.
^And this is just the top of the iceberg! Poland already has one of the most restrictive abortion laws in Europe, and it is proven by WHO that we could save the lives of 50,000 women a year if anti-abortion laws like this did not exist so these anti-choice initiatives are against all reason. And yet - it appears that the Polish government had also decided that it needed to apologize to the people who wrote the Ordo Iuris proposal for its failure to pass it! Poland is not the only country still fighting this battle.
So And so we are asking you to join us since our struggle is far from over. We will not let our governments in collaboration with the Church decide what we can do with our bodies!^
