Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

AIBU to think that scoffing lemon drizzle cake and shagging toyboys is a feminist act?

Because I enjoy doing both and I'm a self-declared feminist, so it must be, right?

Or is that just a fucking stupid way to look at the world?

Because just because you think you're a feminist and you like doing something, that doesn't mean that every single thing you ever do, from eating cornflakes to dancing the tango, is feminist.

It's lacking in critical thinking and common sense, to think it is.

IMO.

YANBU. I know exactly where you're coming from (naming no names EllieLevenson)

NormaStanleyFletcher · 21/03/2012 20:00

OK - I have missed what this is about

Linky?

AliceHurled · 21/03/2012 20:03

Depends Basil. Did you choose it in a vacuum? And does it make you empowered? If so, then you go girl!

MrFluffy · 21/03/2012 20:03

Well it's your choice and therefore it must be feminist in nature. Yep. No doubt about it.

Basil honey! Don't you know that once you out yourself as a feminist, every single thing you do is a feminist act, from declogging the bath in a surly manner to drawing horns on pictures of Hugh Heffner.

Once we're inside your head you can't get us out..... it's part of the feminist conspiracy for world domination Grin

NormaStanleyFletcher · 21/03/2012 20:09

Is this about the Anne summers thread? Not read it for several hours

Of course it is!

Although I substitute the lemon drizzle cake for tubs of Ben and Jerry's.

SinicalSanta · 21/03/2012 20:18

Only if the man did the baking while you stood on his neck with your stiletto.
Feminism has gone too far if you ask me

AliceHurled · 21/03/2012 20:18

Yes Ben and Jerrys, frothy I agree. Cos what you done there is included men too, and that makes it more feminist I think.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 21/03/2012 20:22

OK - I am obviously invisible Sad

On a side note, was VERY pleased to see Ben and Jerry's are supporting gay marriage. so, that's a double thumbs up for them...

AliceHurled · 21/03/2012 20:23

I see you Norma, but don't know the answer.

SinicalSanta · 21/03/2012 20:23

you lot are overthinkibg it. They're just cake flavours. She should be Free to eat ant flavour she likes. Whatever happened to personal choice? I like carrot and walnut

SinicalSanta · 21/03/2012 20:25

Stupid stupid phone with your stupid typos

AliceHurled · 21/03/2012 20:28

What's wrong with ant flavour? I like it, specially if it has the little chewy chocolate covered ants in it.

FrothyDragon · 21/03/2012 20:29

Stop being Antist, Sinical...

I don't think it's related to the Ann Summer's thread. But stopped looking.

ElephantsAreMadeOfElements · 21/03/2012 20:30

But equally YWNBU to be pissed off if someone insisted that scoffing lemon drizzle cake in the privacy of your own home was an anti feminist act.

messyisthenewtidy · 21/03/2012 20:33

Norma, you're not invisible - I totally read your post and ran off to read the Ann Summer's thread but it's too bloody long , the links don't work and I ended up burning my fishcakes.

I blame you slightly Norma Hmm
