I've just been subjected to a back-to-back treat of the latest Petite Filou advert, with a little boy saving a helpless girl at least a head taller than him from bullies, followed by the latest Lynx advert with the falling angels.

DH has suggested I go to bed before I get any more irate....

Are there any other special sexist adverts out at the minute I should look out for this evening to add to my collection?

DH last night was shouting at the telly commented on the B&Q one, where daddy and son are doing 'man stuff' and building the patio, whilst mummy and daughter are busy planting pretty things in the garden......

I felt quite proud of him!

The Sure advert where they make women were sleigh bells to remind them how much they move. Do they think we are so fucking stupid that we can't work out that we move about a lot during the day. It actually makes me feel vioent.

I don't watch TV that often but saw a web one which annoyed me the other day for Maltesers, where there are two heterosexual couples watching TV. The men fall asleep, so the women move them into a cuddling position and then laugh because OMG IT LOOKS LIKE THEY'RE GAY MOST HILARIOUS JOKE EVAAA Hmm And of course the thing about how maltesers are "light" so you have to find some way to be "naughty", because eating chocolate is "naughty" if you are female (but not if you're male, no, if you're male you get to eat massive chunks of solid chocolate with the label "Not for girls")

Really disappointed me actually because I'm pretty sure it was Maltesers which a few years ago (2004/5?) had two separate versions of the same advert (a couple passing maltesers to each other in bed using straws) - one using a heterosexual couple and one with a gay couple. The one with the gay couple was only shown after the watershed though IIRC. Completely different agenda - they were using the "light" angle as a fun aspect rather than a ridiculous weight loss angle.

Although apparently the alternative version of the malteser/straw advert "Feed Me" never existed, it seems there's no trace of it anywhere on the internet Confused Did anyone else remember this or is it just me?

The new IKEA one with the "comedians" talking about whether men or women are messier. It's so cringingly sexistly awful.

I too was saddened to see the petit filous advert revert to traditional gender stereo typing. However, we never buy the stuff as the pots are too small even for a childs appetite and the contents taste like chalk, Perhaps the company is desperate for some sort of attention.

Anyone seen the new Green Giant Sweetcorm ad? Hmm
Mum is in the kitchen (of course) and two kids come in for dinner, filmed in the style of Michael Bay or similar, one kid pushes plate away like they're about to complain but asks for more and everyone smiles.
Can't remember exactly, but the tag line was something like 'giving kids one of their five a day makes mum's feel 10 feet tall' Hmm. Annoyed me so much as obviously dads don't feed their kids, he was no where to be seen in the kitchen and mums just live in their kitchens where the highlight of their day is preparing meals Angry.
