Thanks AliceWorld.

I meant to post the story but completely forgot.

There's also this one:

www.dailytelegraph.com.au/hooters-too-sexy-to-serve-kids/story-fn6e1m7z-1225973037428

"The company's website said the chain "does not market itself to families, but they do patronise the restaurants."

It said Hooters serves all customers, including children."

Hmmmm.....

Kids' t-shirts that say "Future Hooters Girl"??

Shock

There are no words.

Just shown your link to my teenager, and he had no difficulty in identifying what he thought was the target audience. Xmas Grin
He also listed the criteria he thought the waitresses would have to meet to get a job, and he didn't think numeracy was one of them.
It didn't appeal to him as a concept, he likes reality.

They're not marketing themselves to children though, apparently:

Check out this kids t-shirt here

@Goblinchild - glad to hear it doesn't appeal to your son.

I often show him interesting links, like the airbrushing model, and the breastfeeding in public is offensive one.
He's going to grow up with his eyes open to sexism and discrimination if I have my way.

Reminds me to join the anti Hooters site.

Yuck.

Interesting, you have to become a friend and not a fan to Hooters Bristol.

That's because 'Bristol Hooters' is a personal account, as is 'Cardiff Hooters'.

Clearly, there is no such person and both of these accounts are in breach of the Facebook terms of use. It's core part of the Facebook philosophy that users should use their real name. Businesses and brands can have a presence , but only as a fan page.

I have already reported this to Facebook, but did not get a response. If more people do the same, then they may act.

Facebook likes to present itself as being a free speech space where you can post anything as long as its legal. Although they do seem to come down hard on any form of nudity or copyright infringement.

I don't think they are likely to investigate individual reports. They will prioritise based on volume.

From the Hooters girls facebook page.

Actually I'm going to do this Hooters thing in stages, so I'll open a new face book account so that I can copy and paste without being noticed!!
