What we're reading

Marian Keyes style

Just been lent my first Marian Keyes "This Charming man". Now am I right in thinking the terrible grammer is supposed to be an Irish accent? It is so off putting, I feel like a teacher reading it, I want to correct it all the time! Is this normal for her? How annoying.

It's not her normal style. She does normally throw in a few Irishisms here and there but not in that shorthand, Bridget Jones' diary stylee. I think she must have been trying out a new voice. Personally it really got in the way of the story for me... try some of her earlier stuff for a more typical style.

I am loving the story, very funny/sad, just wanted to make sure I didn't have a unedited copy!
