Am I the only one who loves this genre? I liken them to the book version of Diagnosis Murder! If so who are your favourite authors/ series? Any recommendations?

I do! i favor any of them set in the middle ages.

No names right now. I am tucked up on the sofa with a sore throat and the bookshelf is too far away to read! But I want the thread to get noticed!

Also a big fan of mystery,do you know dorothy simpson, i think its inspector thanet, might be set in kent, written in the 80s.
Also ngaio marsh, a writer from new zealand, written in the 50s, some set in london, often based around theatre.

I think I am at the more lightweight end of cosy mysteries blush. I read mainly American authors on my Kindle. When I can be bothered to move on my sofa, I will write some of my favourites.

Though I love the Robert Galbraith books. Would highly recommend those.

Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache mysteries. Set in the small French Canadian village of Three Pines. The detectives spend a lot of time in the cosy local bistro eating delicious food. Nothing gory. Nice cosy crime.
