I thought this looked good so started reading it, but I just can't bear to carry on. I find her writing style very irritating - I am at the bit where she has met her sister and they are discussing her giving up smoking etc.

I like to read to relax but this book made me want to throw it across the room - it's too twisty turny and far too much irrelevant detail for me.

I just don't feel I can turn another page!

HOWEVER I really want to know what happens after that so if anyone could let me know then I would appreciate it Grin

Hey, any chance you can please mail me what you sent MrsBradleyCooper. I'm having the exact same issues as her, and need to find out the end but can't bring myself to finish the book. Also what happens when the family went AWOL? Thanks!

I hated it too. It was recommended to me on here when I was looking for audio book suggestions. I persevered to the end, but really wish I hadn't bothered - can't even remember what happens in the end, it was so tedious!

I'm well late to this thread.

I thought I loved her but I don't. She's too samey, the detectives get on my tits and the revelation in this one doesn't really make much sense.

BUT Stuart McBride has a new one out tomorrow!

He's bloody hilarious. You don't know whether to laugh or vomit. But if you like mystery/crime you should love him.
