Anyone feel like forming a small clique of just a few people struggling to shift that last stone or so?

I have lost 10kg, then put back on 4 , and now am bracing myself to start the whole diet thing again in attampt to lose another 6kg before I TTC again.

Are there a couple of others out there who would like to do the same and try and encourage/harass each other towards our goal?

I know there are loads of threads doing this, but I feel it'd be too easy to 'hide' on a big busy thread, and I would end up sitting in the corning scoffing nutella toast and hoping noboby noticed

So, are there 2,3, 4 ladies who would like to join in here?

Oh can I join you?? I feel the same as you about the big threads (and the fact that I'm shy). I need telling off frequently though don't know whether you'd be up to the job lol.
I actually need to lose more than a stone but am taking it in little steps.

Yay sillysillybee!
right, have just looked at your profile and sussed you out No pics though, so can't be properly nosey!

Me - well, as per my profile. I am an Aussie, living in Derby, leaving for Europe in 6 weeks, then moving to Sydney! DH and I want to start TTC DC number 3 in November/December, but I want to be at a better weight first.

My ideal weight is 70kg, but my goal is 75kg, which is what I was before I had my first child.

At the mo I am 80.9kg (sorry, I know you Brits think in LBs, but I can't get it!). I'd like to lose as much as I can before I leave Derby in 6 weeks. I think 3.5 kg (I think roughly 7 lb ?) is reasonable?

I don't want to crash diet and then pile it back on, or lose my motivation. I lost the 10kg last time by general low fat eating and going to the gym, although I don't really want to go back to the gym as I loathe it.

You?

Oh please can I join?

I fell off the wagon of one of the big threads, and felt a bit of a fraud as they all lost lbs and lbs and I just lost 3lb put it back on lost it put it back on etc etc etc

I just want to lose a stone to get back to where I was this time last year when I had lost over two stone.

I have just demolished 3 sainsbury's mini carrot cakes, so I need a conscience.

Right, at the risk of boring you all...

I'm 27 and have one extremely spirited, gregarious and excitable little 14 month old. Whilst pg I remained active but ballooned up to the size of a small but hefty bus. After her birth (em c/s) I felt it my duty to spend a lot of time sitting on the sofa, breastfeeding and eating gingerbread. The weight Did Not Go. Seeing pictures of me on her 1st birthday was a revelation and I decided to get off the sofa and put the gingerbread to the back of the cupboard.

So, I was about 11 and a half stone on her birthday and weighing myself yesterday I am now 10stones exactly (which for the Antipodean contingent is about 63.5kgs- thanks Google!). I want to be nearer 9 stones ideally.

I am diametrically opposed to dieting. I eat healthily but have just upped the exercise. I do an hour of cv exercise 4 times a week and about 80-100 sit ups a day to try and combat the jelly belly.

I'm in Norfolk, land of cows and flat caps, but was born in... Derby!

Lol at no pics on my profile, I'm not brave enough maybe I'll add one WHEN (see not if - positive thinking ) I lose some weight.
I'm 26 and single so thats my motivation to lose weight and find myself a new man (although I have a possible date this weekend, don't think I can lose any before then though)
Will weigh myself in the morn and post more I've got to run now.

oh dear oh dear, you all put me to shame with your efforts. I am just warming up for another attempt. So far I have not bought nutella at Sainsbos today. Baby Steps.

My plan is to cut right back on snacking, and make a list of snacks allowed. Mainly I need to cut out toast/crumpets etc, whcih I always reach for in the afternoon when the kids are sending me 'round the twist and I'm tired. I also have fat free yoghurt with fruit, but I don't find it very filling, and its quite sugary, so doesn't help with the afternoon lull in energy. Sugestions?

I also need to plan to go out cycling 2 nights a week, and do some other form of excersize every day. ATM I walk to nursery to collect DD twice a week, but thats all.

Showofhands, your DD is quite gorgeous (DH not bad either ). You are a woman after my own heart with your desire to wear wellies, grow veg, have lots of children and write books Don't know about Scotland though...beautiful, but cold and wet.

Mustrunmore...you promise then?

Moodlum and Sillybilly...what are your stats then? Fess up.

Right. So. What do we do now? Those of you who have been on the big weight loss threads, tell us please!

Thinking I might attempt conversion to ye olde worlde stones and lb. A pound is less than a kilo so I will be able to lose them faster .

Am :12.7 stone (BMI is 25.11)

want to be: 11.8 (BMI wuld be 23.24)

Weird thing: I just did my BMI on 3 different calculators, all gave me a lower BMI when I did my height and weight in imperial, and a higher one (26) when I did it in metric. What gives? The conversions were from google.

Anyway, current BMI is over 25 was the concensus.

I'm coming as close to promisng as I ever do
Moral dilemma tonight, as I had tea at 5.30 with the boys, and now I'm starving and dying to snack, but I cant afford to do it! I did aerobics this morning; if I exercise at night, at least I can eat a bit later.

Hello all, Please forgive blatant intrusion on closed thread . Any chance I can join you? I also have one stone to loose and want to be on a small thread where we really motivate each other and keep it up. I am very honourable and check MN frequently, I am GOOD at keeping up on threads!
Hope you say yes, but understand if you say THREAD CLOSED

P.S. Have had some success losing weight in the past without starving too.....

I think you can join us RubiMama, especially if you pass on your weight loss without starving, tips!

I am 12st 10lb. In relatively recent memory I have been up to 14st 2 and down to 11st 10lb. In an ideal world I would like to be about 11 and a half stone, which is still a heiffer by some standards but for me its just about feeling comfortable in clothes and when I look in the mirror. So just over a stone to lose.

I have in the past done really well with Weighwatchers and hated slimming world. I need to write down what I eat and menu plan to lose weight. But this time, desperate times call for desperate measures, and as of tomorrow I'm going to try (yes I know, I know, I'm a sucker for advertising) eating a bowl of Special K for breakfast and lunch, and have a decent lunch with the dcs.

My weaknesses are (endless). Wine. Snacks. Bread. I'm just greedy greedy.

Aw thanks Astrophe. Of course I think dd is beautiful too! DH is alright I suppose. You've spotted my lentil weavery tendencies then. Digging and wellies very much up my street which is useful as I do live on a farm.

I'm not very good at the dieting side of things as I refuse to do it. I can't bear the idea of saying I can't have something. I'd only want it more and would feel miserable. I do eat healthily though and limit snacking. It's hard atm as am still bfing so quite hungry all the time. Sometimes a salad and some fruit just doesn't cut it. My vices are biscuits (don't have them in the house as I'd eat them all) and cheese. I love cheese. I also tend to snack on bread/crumpets/breakfast muffins if I'm hungry. I do like bread. With cheese if possible.

I'll be ok with the exercise tips, dh was a fitness instructor/gym manager in a previous incarnation (he's a copper now) so is a great help there. He's also extremely slim and eats what he likes so I officially stick my tongue out at him.

In an evening I think smoothies are a good idea. I also like flapjacks as they're good slow release food and very easy to make. A bowl of cereal's good too.

I think it'd be a good idea to make some pledges (in a non-American sorority type way). I think things like 'I'll go for a walk every day and walk at a good pace/push the buggy up a hill etc' or 'I won't use the lift/escalator, I'll take the stairs' and 'I won't use the car for unnecessary trips'. I've found it all so much easier to stick to when I've got a few guidelines.

Btw, I do this > a lot on MN, I'm cutting down slowly.

I love Special K but would be starving with only that to eat moodlum (love your name).

Drink lots, that's my tip for today. Feeling hungry is often actually thirst so a drink (prob not alcohol though!) can often be what you need.

I'm going to pledge not to eat dd's leftovers as I seem to do this rather often.

I am waffling I feel...
