i am on day 3 and its fine - considering what cambridge was like a bit boring and difficult if you want to go out i would imagine but its a week, thats all and apart from anything else its got a lot of healthy fruit and veg which cant be a bad thing for me who likes to eat a lot of biscuits

let us know how you get on

kitsisverysorry, it's just an idea, may be you could try soup diet instead of restricting yourself to just cabbage. Cabbage has a very strong taste but it's considered to be good for slimming. You could combine cabbage with beetroot, carrots and tomatoes, another times have have carrot soup, tomato soup, celery soup, leek and carrots soup etc. I think if you put cabbage soup on a search on the net it will come up with some other ideas.

My mom and stepfather do this diet every so often and they both lose loads of weight and yes... they do have smelly farts!

As long as you know the weight won't stay off when you start eating normally, then go for it as a quick fix!

Good luck

i'm doing one called fat burner foods. it's soup based and first time i lost 12lbs in 2 weeks. it's quite easy veg soup for luch and tea but some days you can have a lean steak, others a baked pot with salsa. breakfast is generally fruit. i added yog to mine and still lost weight. i do it every so often to lose a bit more (am 3stone over weight but can only seem to stick to anything for about a fortnight!)

Hiya

Im starting it today,

Im eating an apple for breakfast as Im allowed fruit on day one.

And Im going to make my soup in a minute.

Bit miffed at the days where its soup & veg only.

I don't really fancy soup for breakfast!

Maybe half a small yogt instead?

Or do you have to stick to it precisely for it to work?

Am quite excited actully! And I know Ill stick to it.

I have to get in that dress!!!

I did manage to stick to it for 1 week and I lost 10 pounds, but no more I'm afraid. The farts were indeed vile and I just couldn't face holding my nose anymore whilst I downed the damned soup, although I did take it very literally and included celery (which I hate with a passion), but even I couldn't stomach the plain brown rice yeuch. Good for a short term fix though it really does work.

6 weeks is plenty of time to loose quite a bit of weight just by sensible eating though.
Will he still want to marry you after all those cabbage soup farts??????
My mil did the cabbage soup diet once, she reckoned she lost tons of weight through food poisoning as its the same old manky pan of soup she kept eating for a week, YUK.
And you can't drink on it, apparently that causes heartburn far far worse than anything you ever experienced before in your life.

So why does it have to be cabbage or celery soup? Almost any vegetable soup would do it, may be it will take slightly longer but you'd enjoy it if you could cook any veg and the taste can be fantastic. You can snick celery in your carrot soup, you can have asparagus soup, sweet potato soup, beetroot soup, tomato soup - so many different types. you can also have veg salad so it's not just soup and some berries - people say blubberies are amazing for your waste line. Why limit yourself to just a few and then say never again when you cn do it for much longer and leave a healthy and happy life even while dieting?

I've done the cabbage soup diet but maybe I was given a different version because it wasn't just cabbage, it had celery, green peppers, leeks, tinned tomatoes and whatever packet soup you fancied to give it flavour (as long as it wasn't cream-of type). Dh made me a mulligawny one that was delicious and I still lost weight.
I know it's only a quick fix (and I did get to my target at SW so know about the healthy eating thing) but I find that a few days of it destroys my craving for sweet things when it starts getting out of control (ie not being able to open a packet of choccy biscuits without scoffing the lot ).
Also, it doesn't make me fart but I do wee an awful lot!

I'm glad you mention the last bit, Pixel. It effects me a great deal but i think the veg soup diet is the wonderful diet. It really helps and I'd like to have it often for pleasure, apart from the wee business which makes me visit the loo every 20 minutes sometimes and it's hard in the night time so may be i have soup every other day or so and have just 2 portions to have pleasure without suffering.
