Can you lose half a stone in 4 weeks?

I have a big event at the beginning of July, and due to Half Term spent eating cream teas and drinking, my healthy eating has gone out of the window.

So big question, do you think that it's possible to drop half a stone in four weeks?

Thinking exercise 3-4 times a week (not for weightless, just for health / toning up).
Cutting carbs
Upping protein
Cutting snacks.

What do you reckon, o wise ones? Am I being daft?

It's definitely possible, in fact, I've got the same aim so shall we try and do it together?

I'm 5' 7" and hitting the scales at 12 stone and size 14. I want to be down to 10 1/2 by mid-August for hols.

So I hope to be at least half a stone down within 4 weeks. I'm going to be low-carbing and doing the kayla Itsines exercise plan

Cool.

I am 5'4" (on a good day) and 11.3 (also on a good day). I would love to be 10.10 by the 2nd of July, and possibly 10.6 by mid August for Holidays. I bought a frock in the sales for the event and really want to fit into it, as I can't be bothered doing any more shopping.

I'm off to have some prawns and vegetables.

sproglets-

Can I ask what was your general fast day like? (ie what food did you eat?)

Sproglets I'm on about week 3 of 5:2 and haven't lost anything like that! Sad

Too much overindulgence on the weekends, I fear Grin

Tired fast days are 500 cals or less, usually a fancy fishcake or stuffed mushrooms with a mountain of salad. A 10 cal jelly, possibly an apple and an options hot chocolate or 2.
Quim I was ultra strict on non fast days too, never ever went over tdee and usually finished under it.
There's a long running thread on here with loads of tips and support for 5:2ers.

It's touch and go whether you will actually see it on the scales depending on your age, water retention etc. But if you stick to rigid calorie counting of 1000 or yes do 5:2 your body can look half a stone lighter and better if that makes sense. I'm over 50 and while I'm only half a stone overweight, I am finding it impossible to get to the weight I used to get to even though I work out and watch my food intake. But my body looks fine, so I have to remember to not be a slave to the scales, but take pics of my body and go by my clothes as well.

Well I did it easily (without trying to !!) I just started a health kick. -

Cut out ALL caffeinated drinks. Drank plenty of water and herbal teas instead.

Ate fruit on an empty stomach . i lost a stone actually.

To lose more, eat carbs and protein at different times e.g. chicken salad not chicken sandwiches. Salad sandwiches are fine.

elgar definately doable. DH lost 7lb last week on a low GL diet (in reality low carbs, low cal). Has is a good few stones heavier than you hance the large loss but the eating principles were pretty easy to follow. Lots of large salads with protein for fullness at lunchtime, low/no carb teas (turkey tagine, haddock bake, seafood stirfry, steak with mushrooms and a few chips). Not snacking on unhealth stuff was probably the main reason for loss - he had a piece of fruit, 2x slices of ham or ryvita with cottage cheese for snacks not a few choccie biccies and huge chunks of cheese. He has asked me to dial down the chickpeas for future weeks though (I am main cook at hime).

I'm trying to do the same thing. I go on holiday 4 weeks yesterday. I was 11.0 last year on the day we went, and far more toned. This morning I was 11.7 and have been doing no exercise because of sciatica.

I'm doing 5.2 but have ordered the blood sugar diet version as there is a good thread on here about it. I'm going to try and start power walking again this weekend, aiming for 5 miles every second day.

Will try on my bikini for thinspiration.
