where has my waist gone?

I've always been very very lucky & been able to eat what I liked without putting on weight.From the age of 16 until I was 37,I was the same weight,despite having 2 dd's.

All of a sudden I've started to pile it on & since September have put on a stone.I now weigh 9st & am 5'7",so I'm not overweight,but my waist has expanded to 30" The rest of me is still skinny so I don't want to diet,but neither do I want to end up looking ridiculous with a round fat body & skinny arms & legs sticking out from it.

How do I get my waist back? I'm starting to struggle to get my jeans done up & can't afford new ones.
