So my youngest dc is 6 and I have been on numerous diets since she was born and have lost and put on so many lbs over the years :(
I am 5ft 2 and weigh 13st7 my size 16s are getting too tight, I'm fed up and it is really depressing me.
I can't seem to stick to slimming world as I go well over on my. Syns thinking the odd extra one doesn't matter.

I feel ill on the 5:2 diet because I'm so hungry.

Weight watchers is not for me either.

Really low mood ATM I need some encouragement :(

The best way to lose weight in a healthy way is to cut out junk and snacks and eat wholesome nutritious meal.

I've tried all the diets too and this is the only thing that frees up head space and works for me as im eating normal meals and just cutting out things that are bad.

Go for walks and keep busy til meal times then eat a proper normal meal with lots of veg.

What do you typically eat?

I eat lots of junk :(

Yesterday I was at work and had

Breakfast -4 bellvita breakfast biscuits
Dinner-2small brown hovis slices with Turkey and spoon of light mayo.
Pack of quavers
Aero biscuit
Tea-2 small brown hovis slices with a tin of Heinz beans and sausage.
And another biscuit.
That was me trying to be good,.

Today I have been shopping with mil and had frankie and bennys 2 course meal.

I just can't resist :(

Sorry to say but that's a pretty bad diet but you know that anyway.

You could try low carbing as that works for some people who are carb addicts but I like to keep my diet to eating food that I enjoy so that includes carbs.

Otherwise;

Get rid of the breakfast biscuits and only eat 2 slices of bread a day.

Try to include fruit and/or veg with every meal.
So breakfast could be eggs and toast with mushrooms and tomatoes or porridge with fruit or a plain yoghurt with fruit if you need to grab something quick.

What types of food do you like for lunch and dinner? Try to eat healthier versions and add veg that you like and some fruit for afters.

Try to leave about 4 hrs between eating so have 3 meals and an afternoon snack.

If you want to lose weight, you'll have to find the willpower. No miracles available unfortunately.

I'm struggling too but the above is working for me.

I've been doing a loose version of SW to lose baby 3 weight (I went to meetings after baby 2)
I have porridge with a portion of berries ( buy a bag of frozen berries) for breakfast, or scrambled egg.
Baked potato plus protein ( tuna, mackerel, cheese) and salad or microwave frozen veg sachet, or big salad with protein, or a portion of dinner leftovers for lunch.
Home cooked dinner - the SW recipes are good, but most meals made from scratch fit SW principles.

You don't necessarily need to low carb, but you can't eat biscuits and bread all day and expect to lose weight. Too much brown food in your sample day and not enough fruit or veg. Could you need to eat better/more at mealtimes and not snack?
What do you 'spend' your syns on?

Zazzabeans no help here I'm sad to say as I could easily have written your post. Same height and at oresent 2 pounds lighter than you but that changes week after week as i lose 2 put 3 on and so on. Time is my biggest enemy. Whenever I do have any Im too tired to bother try anymore.

Just don't know what diet to follow tbh, one week it's sw, next week its5:2 then calorie counting.

I KNOW slimming world is probably the best for me, but it's just sticking to it :(
Strange thing is, I support adults with disabilities and I'm in charge of their diet plans and they are all on slimming world and all losing weight, however I just can't seem to stick myself :(

Could you do one week where you do 2/3 of every meal fruit or veg to give it a kick start? I can't remember the natty SW title for this but it was their suggestion for short term if you were stagnating a bit. Would a really good loss in a week give you more motivation to stick to it? Have you joined a group? I found knowing I'd be weighed quite motivating. This time I didn't bother and it's slower going.

I'm exactly the same too - I've half-heartedly followed so many diets that I now just feel confused and I'm no thinner! Confused I know loads of people love SW, but I found it strangely restrictive. I'm utterly sick of different diets and feeling like a failure when I don't stick to them.
So, starting from today, I'm going to try sticking to 3 meals a day and absolutely no snacking. I'm not going to restrict what I eat, but will try to keep things relatively healthy and am going to try cutting down a little on my portion sizes.
The way that I'm trying to look at it is that even if I only lose half a pound a week, I'll still be 2 stones lighter by this time next year. Smile

I've just discovered the Jon Gabriel method which is all about 'teaching your body that it needs to be thin' and not 'fat'. Read his website and get the book. I've been doing it for about a month now and just reading the book made me feel differently about food and I am now eating much more heathily and not craving the bad things - only craving carrot sticks and juicy crunchy fruit! Still have a problem with drinking too much wine but this is early days and I am staying with it.

im following paleo and have dropped 3 dress sizes so far (since april) im not super strict on it as I don't see it as diet, but this is the way im going to live now, but im never hungry. the first thing I did was cut out sugar in tea etc, small changes at a time seem to work. I only ever eat bread, pasta rice if im out for dinner now, these are my favourite foods but after a while I just stoppee craving them, I have them as a treat now. typical breakfast is omelette or eggs with mushroom, lunch would be a salad, or stew, curry (last nights leftovers etc) and dinner something like salmon or chicken with sweet potato and lots of veg. I also walk 1-2 hours day and the weight is coming off nicely. you don't need to starve just eat the right things.
