Hi

Feeling thoroughly fed up and cried after getting on the scales this morning :(

Am 3months pp and after gaining 3.5stone I've only 1stone to loose but it won't budge no matter. I'm watching what I eat religiously, walking at least 1.5hrs a day (yesterday I walked 3!) and am doing 2-3 30min jogs a week yet somehow I have gained a lb this week! I just feel so depressed now.

I did randomly drop 8lbs a few weeks ago but then it all went back on plus a couple of lbs. does anyone else have any advice? I'm no longer breastfeeding and do have a pituitary disorder but have just restarted meds.

Also so much of my hair is falling out, when did this stop for u?

Tia

Please, please don't be so hard on yourself. You gave birth just a few weeks ago Smile

Has anyone told you the old saying "9 months to go on, 9 months to come off"?

Could you try joining slimming world? You'll eat healthily and get the support from your consultant. It might also be worth talking to your HV, you seem very down Smile

I would suggest Lindsay Brin, a friend recommended her programme and it's brilliant. Starts very gently and builds as you get stronger.
Birth and pregnancy is hard on your body so don't be upset, it takes 9 months to get baby and a year before babies are more independent and your hormones have settled.
I know it's hard but for most mums it's around 2 years before you feel your back to pre baby self.
Take it easy enjoy your beautiful new baby and ease in gently you don't want to do too much. Good luck with everything Smile

Agree that it can be two years before you start to feel like your old self and this is the natural gap between children.

Could you join a post natal yoga group? It will help your body to recover and rebalance and you might even get some adult company Smile

Thanks all for the replies. I'm feeling a bit better today, ended up going for a light jog yesterday which lifted my mood. I will just take it one day at a time and keep doing what I'm doing. My dh keeps telling me to chill and accept 9mths on, 9mths off but it's hard when your body has changed so much.
I know I'm being stupid feeling so panicky about my weight as I'm hardly big and am now only 1/2 a stone overweight due to pregnancy but my shape has changed so much. Massive saggy skin tummy and boobs that resemble spaniels ears from bf lol.

I had a wedding at 9wks pp and just felt awful and I have a other one in 6wks time and am already dreading the photos :(

But I will take your advice and try to just enjoy my baby, he's more important than my weight anyway :) It's quite reassuring to hear it takes up to 2yrs to feel normal as everyone else seems to be fine and back to normal but maybe they just don't want to admit how they are feeling?!

Exactly, you can't read people's minds and it can be the ones who seem to be coping best are the ones struggling the most.

Nobody will expect you to go to a wedding looking like a size zero 16 year old model either, you'll look like the beautiful mother you are.

Just one last point, it's the pg that make your boobs like that, not the bfing Smile
