Need motivation for Weight loss?

Hello to the wobbly mummies!!!

I've been reading lots of the threads in this section and thought I'd share how I managed to kick-start my weightloss...
I come from a family of "Weight watchers" and bingers and I have a really hard time following anythign for more than 4 days!! I'm 5ft2 and Ii've had 2 babies in the last 3 years (I know, nuts) My heaviest was 11stone4 - I'm now 9 stone 5 and trying to lose the last half a stone to be a petite 8 stone something! Hre's how I got started...

I put on some very boring black knickers and bra and set my digital camera on automatic and took 3 photos of myself (believe me NOTHING sexual abotu this at all) front, rear and side views of my falbby body 1 month after the second baby: ahhhhhhhhhhhh! I'd never seen the rolls of fat on my back or my saggy bott!! It was scarey, every bit of me was wobbly! I saved the pictures in a secret place on my pc where no-one would find them (I'd die if anyone saw them). 2 Months later, after a diet of Museli bfast, jkt potato salad lunch and soup for tea and the Martine Dance body dvd I took another 3 photos. I copied and pasted them next to the first photos on the same page and compared!! Unbelievable!! I'd only lost half a stone (which I can put in in a week easily!) but the difference was amazing! I could see where the fat was starting to go!!! Since then whenever I feel like opening the smarties or the chocolate fingers tucking into the cheese I have a look at my secret photos and go ahhhhh; no, never again. I did the 3rd photos session 2 months later when I'd lost a stone and again, copied and pasted on a power point slide next to the others - wow! so ladies, get those digicams out, takes some dodgy piccies of yourself before and update them regularly!! Maybe your dhs would like to help you, personally i've tried so many diets I didn't want to tell dh I was doing another one in case it didn't work again...but this IS WORKING!! very slowly but surely Other tip - don't aim to lose weight all the time, go for weight control - aim not to put any weight, I've stayed the same weight for weeks but didn't feel depressed because I hadn't put backl on what I'd lost. Give it a try and let me know who it goes!!!

Yes but you have actually to lose some weight before you can take the second set so ho do you get to that position, the ability to stick to the healthy diet over 2 months? That's the trouble.
I saw an article yesterday about a US court case where the waitresses were weighed and put on a chart tracking weight etc and then made to be weighed every week. They're suing, obviously...

Not all diets suit everyone but I have found the one for me ...and that is SW. I wouldn't want to try anything else as this one works for me. But like I said everyone is different. Congrats on your weight loss. Keep it up.X

Udder - tell us how you've done so far on SW. How long have you been doing it etc? (read your post the other day, so hoping this reply will make you !) I've got my weigh in 2mrw but it's only week 1 for me. Feel great though! x

Hi T, I joined SW march 2000 when I gave up smoking cos I didn't want to pile on the weight. (was picked as a chid for being chubby.
I really went with my friend cos she wanted to join. In July 2001 had 1st baby and wanted to get back to pre preg weight.Went back to SW and did just that! In Feb 2004 got married (2nd time). By this time I had put on 2.1/2 st then found out I was expecting again. When baby was 6months I went back to SW again cos I know the plan works (11.4 st) I am now 8.11. . Sorry for waffling on. Happy Slimming. X

Xenia - I know exactly what you mean, I'd never been able to stick at any diet, seeing the photos was the thing that made me stick to the diet for the first time so I thought I'd post in on here in case it worked for others!

My mum compares having a weight problem to a drink or drug problem, we go cold turkey, stay off the wagon , then it just takes one biscuit, then the packet...then another stone! She's 14 stone and can't get off the wagon despite 25 years of all the diets under the sun. They should introduce sugar or fat patches to control the food addiction!

Udder - what's the basics of the SW, is it mainly healthy eating? (everyone's too scared not to answer you now since your little message!!!)

I don't think my camera has a wide enough lens to take a pick of my butt!! he he he he Have been doing SW just over a week, and feel great, although I am not doing it by weight cos I get disapointed and lose motivation if I have a bad week, so am just doing it by how my clothes feel, if thats make sense. My motivation is Christmas and then my first holiday with DS in May, I want to be two sizes smaller ?????
