Thinking if giving this a go and wandered if anyone else has. Am currently on the lookout for breakfast and lunch ideas I can take to work etc...I like the idea however I do fear I will carb load and stuff my face with meat and cheese come 6pm!

Thanks for reply, it is basically following a vegan diet before 6pm for health and weight loss purposes. I don't eat a lot if meat but I do eat a lot of butter, cheese and eggs so am currently trawling web looking for easy yet filling recipes which are relatively low fat. Any breakfast, lunch and snack ideas would be great Grin

ok well porridge is a great breakfast to fill you up. I usually use almond milk (only 24cals per 100ml) or you can use apple juice which is quite nice too!

or I have wholemeal toast/muffin with peanut butter. granted the peanut butter is fatty, but nut fats are good right?

or when I can be bothered I make up batches of homemade granola which I have with either soya yoghurt or almond milk

lunchwise you can't go wrong with a nice filling soup.
or bread/crackers/ryvita with humous, tomatoes, olives, cucumber, etc etc
salad- I normally mix some minty 3 bean salad into it to get more protein and make it more filling

Thanks (are you a fan of the rum bundaberg?! I love it!)

Forgot about hummus - that and some salads would be a good start. And porridge for breakfast with water whilst grim I could probably do - although will give the milk alternative a try.

I'm trying this too, only began 3 days ago but am feeling well on it so far. Years ago I lost a load of weight eating like this all the time but it was so boring and anti social when I went out with friends or wanted to eat with the family! I think this before 6 thing has to be more manageable. I only have difficulty at about this time of the day and only then when I'm home. I really crave something YUMMY!

I am currently having porridge in the mornings with soya milk and fruit, veg and humus. mushroom pate on ryvita with soup for lunch and the odd oat cake with peanut butter for a snack or a banana. I am fascinated to know what happens after 6.....llike you I do wonder if I can be balanced about it! I guess we shall see.

I think it is important to have a diet that suits you. I tried the low carb one and it made me feel sick and lethargic. I know loads of people who have done well on it though. I like this one because I really enjoy vegan food anyway and because there is no calorie counting. Good luck! Maybe we can keep each other updated!

Ok Steben, that sounds fun. I am intrigued. Tonight Dd and I had a really long walk and by the time we got back it was 7.00pm. We had burgers and salad for dinner. It's sort of hard to see how this is allowable on a "diet" but on the other hand I had been very strict all day so whereas I would normally have had some sort of biscuit guzzling half hour there was was none! Time will tell!

Hi Steben, I've lost 3lbs so far. Am quite pleased as it's not been too difficult at all. How are you getting on?
