I've been a tad stressed of late and appear to have been eating.

I just tried on my bridesmaid dress for a wedding happening in 3 weeks and I can't fasten the zip past my ribs Confused

I need a quick fix as there is no way of getting it altered or getting a new one, please help!

Have you considered eating less?

Is the dress the sort of cut that you can wear spanx? Is AF due, that could explain some bloating?

Hmm I've done this too! It's a bit horrifying when you can't get that zip done up and there's no other option!

You need to restrict what you're eating for at least a week, preferably two or until the wedding. No carbs such as bread, pasta, potatoes etc and as few artificial sugars as you can manage.

Example day:
Breakfast - porridge with fruit
Lunch - lentils or quinoa with fish or chicken and salad
Dinner - omelette with vegetables
Snacks - natural yoghurt, a few almonds, sugar snap peas
Drink lots of water, try not to drink alcohol or caffeine

The idea is that you restrict calories to lose weight and restrict carbs and sugars to prevent water retention. Hope this helps.

Agree with karinmaria- low carb for a few weeks and your stomach with go down so much.

Hi, it's not my stomach! It's around my back that's got bigger.

I'm usually a size 6 and eat 1200 calories a day at most but in the last few weeks I've put on half a stone without realising Hmm

Are there any diets that can help you lose that much that quickly (apart from the master cleanse-I know that works but I don't think mentally I'm strong enough for that at the moment).

Go low carb! I was calorie counting for around 3 months - restricting to 1200 per day and doing shed loads of cardio exercise. I got bored, ditched the carbs, upped the protein and cut back on cardio in favour of weights and have lost 6lbs in a fortnight. It really works!

Also - are there other bridesmaids you could maybe swap dresses with? I might have to do this in three weeks time for my bridesmaid role as have dropped too much to fit the dress properly - it's not the same wedding is it?

Slim & Save. Get a weeks supply. I lost half a stone a week on it back in march. It is hard work though- you have to be committed!

Another advocating the low carb... Its fantastic for a quick fix if you are VERY strict - Its also a great way of eating for life if you choose to continue.

Go on to the low carb bootcamp threads and follow the rules - some of the carby foods surprised me, no fruit, little in the way of root veg etc... but you can have as much fat as you like and will not be hungry on it.

I have followed a loosely low carb way of eating for the last few months and have lost almost 2 stone (but I have had a lot of 'cheat' weekends!

Will try low carb then, thank you.

Wish me luck!

Your not pre menstrual are you? That affects the size of my boobs a lot and affects what I can wear comfortably. Also different bras can make a huge difference to what fits and what doesn't.

I'm a bit confused actually that you could put on half a stone around your back in a few weeks. That's a lot of back fat! Hence I think it might be worth looking at your bra and checking you aren't pre menstrual.

(whispers, half a stone in a couple of weeks? POAS time?)

But in reality, low carbing helps. Cut out as much sugar as you can, think soya milk instead of cows, and cream in coffee. no bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, noodles or breakfast cereal. But don't have too many eggs, they can cause constipation! and drink loads of water! (and maybe find an alterations place Wink )

Oooh, definitely not poas time!!

Have just switched from copper coil to mirena so could possibly be my new hormones Hmm

I really hope I can shift it-the dress is pleated and so won't suit altering.

Could you go and exchange the dress for a bigger size?

OP have some snacks in which are low carb, then you won't be tempted or go hungry.

Small piece of cheese.
A few nuts- almonds/unsalted peanuts
A small amount of pâté with celery.

If you go on the low carb threads on here you could ask for ideas.

Still going Grin

Desperate for a beer tonight but it's not going to happen.

Good thing I suppose!

Dress is now as it should be in a comfortably baggy way.
