And I have to write it down here to make it real and offer anyone to join in/poke me with a stick.

Holiday is booked for 6th May and I'm drawing a line in bumbling along and want to keep a running total from now til then of just how much I can lose.

Good for you! How much do you want to lose? Set yourself some targets along the way to help yourself along.

Sorry I left loads out of my OP, was just feeling so determined to get it written down!

I've always been on a general diet and took about a year to lose a stone, but I wasn't trying hard and although I wanted to loose weight I didn't care too much.

I've just been looking at last years holiday photos and I look so big. I can remember feeling good about myself and then seeing the photos and having a cry, but I've managed to block it out and carry on bumbling along....til dp said this years holiday is booked and I've suddenly got this major drive to see how much I can lose from now to then.

Sorry for the essay just wanted to explain and thank you if u got thru it!

I'm going to do a mix of calorie counting and the 5:2 diet (I like that when I fail on a fast day I've still had a really good cal.day!)

I don't know about goals, what's a good suggestion? What's doable in 13 weeks?

Oh and I'm 12st4 as of yesterday morning.

I've just dug out the 30day shred and the bike pump to fix my bike so I can ride to work tomorrow...I've never felt so motivated!

Well you could aim for 1lb a week which should be do-able - or you could go for being 11stone which should also be doable without too much pain.

I'm doing much the same thing this year, I have bumbled along getting fatter & fatter over the last few years, gradually giving up exercise (which I used to love) and eating more & more. At the beginning of January it was like a switch went on in my head and I decided to do something about it. Since 7 Jan (when I was your weight) I have lost about 8lb through cutting down/eating sensibly and doing the Shred. I feel much more toned and fitter already. Still have a long way to go but I do feel much better about myself which is motivating to begin with. Smile

So I am wishing you all the best as I know exactly how you feel.
